Twilight Star Joins Dune 3 as Villain Opposite Chalamet & Zendaya!
The selection process for the cast of Dune 3 by Legendary Pictures appears to be intensifying, as rumors swirl about a popular figure from the Twilight series being considered for a significant part.
Although no official casting offer has been made yet, Deadline’s latest report suggests he is highly sought after and might be part of the cast.
If he manages to be part of the eagerly awaited follow-up, he’ll team up with an ensemble that features recurring actors from Dune and Dune: Part Two – Timothee Chalamet playing Paul Atreides and Zendaya in the role of Chani.
Additionally, it’s been announced that he will be joining the cast, alongside Florence Pugh, who is anticipated to reprise her role as Princess Irulan. This character first appeared in the Dune franchise with the release of Dune Part Two in 2024.
Director Denis Villeneuve, who worked on both Dune and its continuation Dune Part Two, is also expected to be back at the controls for this much-awaited follow-up.
What actor appears poised to enter the sci-fi series next? It turns out it’s Robert Pattinson, who seems ready to step into a more malevolent role.

Sources reveal that Pattinson will be playing the villainous character by the name of Scytale.
In the year 1969, Scytale made its debut in Frank Herbert’s Dune series, specifically in the second book titled “Dune Messiah”, which serves as the basis for this upcoming movie.
The story unfolds twelve years following the incidents depicted in the initial novel, a chronicle that served as inspiration for the first two motion pictures, with each film adapting roughly half of the book’s content, resulting in two grand cinematic productions.
In the third book, Timon (Scytale) makes his appearance, as Timon’s character, Paul Atreides, maintains his role as Emperor in conjunction with Princess Irulan. Simultaneously, he conceals a clandestine relationship with Chani.
In simpler terms, Scytale defies the reign of Atreides and endangers his control over the territory he governs, which was set up during the initial two films.
The character didn’t appear in the initial two films, yet Martin McDougall portrayed him in the 2003 mini-series titled “Frank Herbert’s Children of Dune” previously.
Director Denis Villeneuve is set to resume his role behind the camera following a screenplay he collaborated on with Jon Spaihts, inspired by Herbert’s novel.
The production is planned to kick off around this summer, as Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. Pictures have scheduled the film’s release for December 18, 2026.

Currently, Robert Pattinson is featured in the science fiction film “Mickey 17,” directed by Bong Joon Ho. Additionally, he’s working on “Die My Love” under the direction of Lynne Ramsay, where he stars alongside Jennifer Lawrence and Nick Nolte. This project is currently in post-production.
Recently, I had the privilege of being part of the cast for the captivating drama produced by A24, titled simply “The Drama.” Sharing the screen with the exceptionally talented Zendaya and Alana Haim was truly an enriching experience. The film is currently in post-production, so keep an eye out for its release!
At present, the sought-after actor is working on Christopher Nolan’s movie adaptation of The Odyssey, sharing the screen with Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Charlize Theron, Anne Hathaway, and Zendaya.
In the upcoming sequel, The Batman II, set for a 2027 release, Robert Pattinson will reprise his role as both Bruce Wayne and Batman.
