Twilight returns! Stephenie Meyer teases future for the franchise made famous by Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson

Stephenie Meyer, the author of the Twilight series, plans to continue the love story of Bella Swan and Edward Cullen with two new books. She believes their magical romance will never truly end.

In a recent interview on Good Morning America, author Stephenie Meyer said she considers the characters Bella and Edward to be unchanged since the end of the novel *Breaking Dawn*.

I have many more story ideas planned, but I’m not sure I’ll ever have the chance to write them all. If I don’t, I’ve asked someone to share those outlines after I’m gone. But in my mind, the stories continue to exist.

Twenty years ago, Stephenie Meyer published Twilight, the first in a series of books that became a huge success. The story was adapted into five movies that earned over $3.3 billion and helped make stars out of Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner.

‘I don’t even know how to process that [milestone],’ Meyer said of the legacy.

I didn’t anticipate having fans when I began this journey. It’s incredibly flattering to be back and see people still supporting me, but I never assume that will continue. It honestly feels strange to me.

Robert and Kristen had a complicated, on-again, off-again romance that lasted four years. It ended suddenly in 2012 when Kristen was seen kissing Rupert Sanders, the married director of her film, Snow White and the Huntsman.

The Twilight series, including novels, a shorter story, and graphic novel adaptations, has achieved massive success, selling more than 160 million copies and being translated into 37 languages worldwide.

The mother of three, a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, shared that she felt she had managed to convey a small part of the experience of falling in love.

You know, I’ve always been drawn to love stories that start with a bit of a challenge – the kind where things aren’t necessarily easy from the get-go. There’s just something so captivating about that initial spark when everything feels a little bit risky! And honestly, I’m a firm believer in crafting your own happy ending, so naturally, I always steer things toward a positive outcome. I just *need* those feel-good stories in my life.

Stephenie explained that many book heroines are known for being adventurous and taking risks, like fighting with swords. However, Bella is different – she’s a shy, bookish character, and Stephenie felt there weren’t many heroes like her who simply enjoyed reading.

In 2020, Stephenie Meyer, also known as Morgan, released *Midnight Sun*, a reimagining of *Twilight* told from Edward’s point of view instead of Bella’s.

A year ago, Netflix approved a new animated series based on Midnight Sun. Sinead Daly will produce the show, alongside the writer, who was born in Connecticut and grew up in Arizona.

Robert Pattinson will star alongside Jennifer Lawrence in the upcoming thriller, *Die, My Love*, directed by Lynne Ramsay. The film will be released in US cinemas on November 7th and in UK cinemas on November 14th.

The film version of Ariana Harwicz’s novel stars Sissy Spacek, Nick Nolte, and LaKeith Stanfield.

The acclaimed actor, nominated for two Independent Spirit Awards, has a busy schedule with several highly anticipated films on the horizon, including Denis Villeneuve’s *Dune: Part Three*, Christopher Nolan’s *The Odyssey*, Matt Reeves’ *The Batman: Part II*, Lance Oppenheim’s *Primetime*, and Kristoffer Borgli’s *The Drama*.

Okay, so Kristen Stewart is just taking over my life right now! First of all, she’s *directing* a movie – her first feature, called The Chronology of Water, and it’s coming out in December! I’m already counting down the days. But that’s not all! She’s going to *be* Sally Ride in this series, The Challenger, which is just…perfect casting, honestly. And THEN, to top it all off, she’s starring in a movie directed by her wife, Dylan Meyer! It’s called The Wrong Girls, and I’m already obsessed. Seriously, is there anything she *can’t* do?! I need more content, now!

Taylor Lautner, known for hosting the podcast The Squeeze with his wife, is returning to acting in the new independent romantic comedy, *The Token Groomsman*. He’ll be starring alongside country music star Kane Brown.
