TV Stars Shine at Royal Television Society Awards

Anna Maxwell-Martin and Jessica Gunning were part of the stylish attendees who walked the blue carpet at the Royal Television Society Programme Awards on Tuesday.

In a chic, white shirt dress adorned with a subtle pattern, the Motherland star gracefully struck poses for photographers outside the JW Marriott Grosvenor House Hotel in London.

In a stunning dark green dress complete with a matching cape, Jessica, the actress praised for her role as Martha in Netflix’s Baby Reindeer, exuded elegance and sophistication.

The actres was honored with several awards, such as an Emmy, for her exceptional role in the series, and she graced the event with her presence following her nomination for Best Supporting Actress.

Danny Dyer and Katherine Parkinson reconnected at the awards following the passionate romance of their characters in the popular Disney+ series, Ribals.

The duo received nominations for their performances as leading characters in the provocative Jilly Copper remake, where Dyer portrayed the moustached businessman, Freddie Jones, who became romantically involved with Lizzie Vereker, played by Parkinson, aged 46.

This past week, Danny had a successful awards season as he was honored with the Best Supporting Actor award at the distinguished Broadcasting Press Guild Awards in London, which turned out to be a great victory for him.

Danny, aged 47, announced last week that he will start shooting the upcoming series soon since he needs to escort his daughter Dani at her wedding in May, while maintaining his character’s iconic mustache.

He told Heart Radio: ‘I will have a moustache because I’ll be shooting, so I’ll have a tash’.

Dani, who’s a mother of three, shared that she intends to hold a modest springtime wedding with West Ham soccer player Jarrod Bowen at a later date.

Despite not having looked at his scripts, Danny shared that he’ll need to learn horseback riding for the upcoming series.

He hasn’t looked at any scripts yet and can’t provide any information, but he does know he needs to learn horse riding. That’s the extent of what I can share with you!

Among the highly regarded contenders for the RTS awards, you’ll find the final episode of Gavin and Stacey, a comedic gem that drew in more than 20 million viewers, in the comedy nominations bracket.

The well-known reality series, The Traitors, received nominations in not one but two categories – Entertainment and Entertainment Performance. Additionally, Claudia Winkleman was recognized for her exceptional hosting work on the show.

In an exciting turn of events, I find myself squaring off against Ant and Dec in the realm of entertainment performances. Meanwhile, their beloved Saturday Night Takeaway is set for a thrilling clash with The Traitors within the same entertainment category. It’s going to be a night filled with fierce competition and unforgettable entertainment!

The Mirror and the Light” will go head-to-head against “Industry” from BBC and “Supacell” on Netflix in the category for best drama series award.

The nominations were hosted by television presenter Gaby Roslin on the RTS YouTube channel.

Comedian Tom Allen returned to host the ceremony this year.

Kenton Allen, head of the RTS Programme Awards, commented: “British creatives have maintained their high standard of programming over the past 12 months, even during a very tough year for the television industry. Many of us have faced the challenges brought about by the rapid changes in how audiences watch our outstanding content.

2021’s nominations showcase the diverse, innovative, and high-caliber productions in British television – spanning groundbreaking dramas, influential documentaries, laughter-inducing comedies, and many other genres.

We’re excited about uniting to honor the remarkable artists, both behind and in front of the camera, for their outstanding accomplishments over the past year.
