As a lifestyle expert with a keen eye for recognizing transformations, I must say, it’s always intriguing to see how individuals evolve over time, especially when they’ve been associated with a particular role for so long. The recent sighting of Jeff Stewart, the beloved PC Reg Hollis from The Bill, strolling around London in a striking yellow hat and bold coat, was nothing short of surprising.

On Tuesday, a well-known television personality was hardly noticeable as he walked through London, donning a vibrant yellow hat and eye-catching coat.

As an ardent admirer, I can’t help but observe that the 69-year-old star, who graced our screens on a renowned prime-time series, seems like a completely different person compared to the iconic role that first captured my heart.

With a striking houndstooth-patterned winter overcoat and a big, sunny yellow trilby hat, the television celebrity moved incognito while navigating the city.

He famously played a much loved character called PC Reg Hollis from The Bill.

Beneath his bulky winter coat, the actor donned a set of brown checkered pants, a cozy green knit sweater, tan boots, and a pair of thick-framed black spectacles.

As a lifestyle connoisseur, I’d like to share an intriguing observation: If you were to encounter me on the street today, you might find it challenging to recognize me, given my recent metamorphosis. With one hand casually tucked away and a captivating book cradled in the other, I am no longer the familiar face from the screen.

That’s right, it’s actor Jeff Stewart

After departing from The Bill, Jeff transformed his clean-cut image, now sporting a voluminous, gray beard and a mane of curly locks.

But he now seems to have changed his look, opting for a shaved face and shorter hair.

Previously, fans were taken aback when they caught glimpses of the actor donning an unconventional outfit, featuring a checkered woolen coat paired with a vibrant yellow t-shirt.

The actor starred in The Bill for more than twenty years, first appearing alongside Graham Cole’s PC Tony Stamp and Mark Wingett’s character DC Jim Carver in 1984.

After some time, he departed from the program in 2008 to take on the lead role in Dead Man Running. Following this, he starred in Tomorrow in 2010 and Under Jakob’s Ladder in 2011, earning him the Best Actor award at the Manhattan Film Festival.

Back in the day, I was all over those silver screens, gracing them with my presence in flicks like “How to Rule as a Criminal Mastermind” and “Longtails.” But then came 2022, and boy, did things heat up when I stepped into the shoes of Skipper for “The Road Dance”!

The Scottish actor told The Sun in 2011: ‘I felt I had been badly let down.’

Following the announcement from the show’s producers, Jeff retreated to his dressing room, momentarily stunned, and in a state of distress, he made an attempt on his own life.

As he began to black out he changed his mind and rang the front desk for help.

Fortunately, they managed to locate him in a timely manner and quickly transported him from the Merton studios, located in South West London, to the hospital.

In my experience, I found myself in a position where I didn’t seek counseling services. I felt that I was coping well on my own, and I didn’t let concerns about potential career implications cloud my judgment. Instead, I focused on maintaining a balanced lifestyle and prioritizing self-care.

‘I thought, ‘I have a choice, you can either stagnate or blossom’, he added.

At one point, images surfaced online showing him with a full beard. Some fans assumed this meant he was still dealing with depression. However, Jeff clarified that his unshaven look was simply a means for him to differentiate himself from ‘Reg’, the clean-shaven character he had become associated with.

He said: ‘I didn’t cut my hair for three years. It was a thought-out, deliberate choice.

‘I thought, ‘I have to look as different as possible’.

Over the course of two and a half decades, I’ve had the privilege of following the incredible journey of a beloved television series. It all came to an unexpected end in 2010 when it was abruptly taken off the air, leaving devoted viewers like myself feeling quite disappointed.
