TV History’s Most Iconic Killer Clown Since Pennywise Officially Set to Return This Year

Exciting news for fans of the popular anthology series: a beloved character from the show will be returning in the thirteenth season! This marks a significant comeback and is sure to please viewers.

According to reports, John Carroll Lynch will be returning as Twisty the Clown in American Horror Story Season 13. He first played the terrifying villain in the show’s fourth season, Freak Show, back in 2014. Lynch later reappeared as Twisty in American Horror Story: Cult in 2017, where the character even inspired a comic book within the show.

Twisty the Clown Finally Returns to AHS

For many horror fans, Twisty is the most frightening clown villain on television since Tim Curry’s iconic portrayal of Pennywise in the 1990 miniseries IT. Bill Skarsgard recently revisited the role of Pennywise in HBO’s IT: Welcome to Derry, a prequel to the newer IT movies. However, Twisty stands out because, unlike Pennywise, he has a surprisingly sympathetic side, making him a unique fan favorite. The character’s tragic past explains his complexity: after being falsely accused of something terrible, Twisty deluded himself into believing he was saving children by kidnapping them.

John Lynch isn’t the only familiar face returning for American Horror Story Season 13. Mat Fraser, known for his role in Gangs of London, will be back as Paul the Illustrated Seal. Berto Colon (The Night Agent) joins the cast as Joe the Doorman, who works for a key figure in the series. Mena Suvari (American Beauty) has also been cast for Season 13, but details about her character are currently being kept under wraps.

A New Season of American Horror Story Arrives This Fall

The casting of Denis O’Hare was revealed earlier, and now several returning stars will be back for Season 13, including Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Gabourey Sidibe, and Leslie Grossman. Joining them are new cast members, including John Waters, who has previously collaborated with Ryan Murphy on Scream Queens.

I’m so excited for AHS Season 13, but details are still a mystery! They haven’t even given us a title yet, which is pretty typical for this show – they usually like to keep things under wraps. But what is interesting is that some characters from Freak Show are coming back. That makes me think this season might connect to Season 4 in some way, maybe even be a crossover! I can’t wait to find out more.

The thirteenth season of American Horror Story doesn’t have a confirmed release date yet, but it’s anticipated to premiere this fall.
