TV Guides stars Jonathon and Danielle Fren reveal their very unconventional ‘part-time marriage’
Jonathon Fren and his wife Danielle have an unconventional marriage.
But the stars of Nine’s Travel Guides insist that their arrangement works perfectly for them.
For half a year, this couple, who’ve been wedded for five years, find themselves separated due to Jono’s work obligations, which keep him occupied with filming projects for the remainder of the time.
In an interview with Woman’s Day, Jono expresses his heartfelt appreciation for Danielle allowing him to host Travel Guides each year, understanding that it involves a significant responsibility as he is gone for an extended period of time.
Danielle suggested, “Perhaps that’s the reason our marriage thrives: as we only need to tolerate each other for half of the year!

Their unusual arrangement won’t be ending any time soon if Jono gets his way.
‘I just want to keep doing it as long as Channel Nine want me,’ he said.
This production is an absolute joy to be involved with, and the team, along with my fellow actors, are top-notch. Without a doubt, it feels like a dream role for me. I consider myself incredibly fortunate.
It comes after a gorgeous apartment owned by the Fren family hit the market.
Located in Newcastle, New South Wales, this luxurious high-rise apartment featuring three bedrooms and three bathrooms is up for sale, priced between $2,900,000 to $3,150,000.
Nestled high up on the fifth floor of an esteemed building just a stone’s throw away from the bustling harbor, this exquisite apartment offers breathtaking panoramic vistas of the city.
Since our debut on the lifestyle show back in 2017, Mark, Cathy, Jonathan, and I (Victoria) have been making great use of this city center apartment as our primary residence, serving as a comfortable and convenient base for all our endeavors.
Despite the anticipation, it seems that the family doesn’t intend to travel too far away; Mark mentioned on social media that their plans involve staying in Newcastle.

The Frens flat stands out with its large size and well-planned design. It boasts a sizable, sheltered outdoor balcony that could also serve as an open-air dining space.
Other features include a combined kitchen and dining area that opens out to an entertainment deck.
There’s also a private lounge and a master bedroom with a walk-in wardrobe.
Amenities in the well-appointed block include a BBQ terrace, pool and gym.
Born in Newcastle, the Frens family gained recognition for expressing their bold viewpoints on Nine’s Travel Guides when it first aired in 2017.
The show focuses on everyday Australians acting as travel reviewers, evaluating popular and distant tourist spots around the globe.
The teachers Mark and Cathy at the primary school, along with hospitality workers Jono and Vic, are well-known for disliking tough working environments.
