2018’s remastered version of the original 1997 game “Turok: Dinosaur Hunter” by Nighdive Studios, initially released for both N64 and PC as “Turok”, has now been ported to Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. This updated version offers a host of brand new features and improvements.
Besides boosted refresh rates, the latest generation port also offers enhanced controller features, haptic feedback, and compatibility with the Brachiosaurus from an early Turok ROM in the Treetops level. It allows changing ammo types for the Tek Bow and Shotgun, as seen in Turok 2, and introduces a run/walk toggle button similar to the original version. The walking mode enables stealthy approaches towards enemies.
In the updated version, you’re now able to assign multiple weapons to a single button, allowing for seamless switching. Additionally, it includes the High Priest’s homing blue magic attack and the Purlin’s unused leap smash melee attack. The Gallery cheat code has been reinstated, granting access to view Bosses and Turok himself. Previews of enemy animations are also available.
The current versions of Turok for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 are out now, offering a temporary price reduction.
🦖 It’s time to seize your controllers for an exhilarating journey… with the legendary Turok: Dinosaur Hunter. Now accessible for the very first time on Xbox Series X and PS5!
Moreover, Turok has been revamped across all platforms, bringing you enhanced features, updated menus, bug fixes, and much more!
