Tulisa’s father, renowned musician Steve Contostavlos has passed away.

The keyboard player, who went by the name of Pluto, played for the band Mungo Jerry.

Tulisa took to Instagram on Tuesday to share an emotional tribute.

She shared a picture from her childhood, depicting her cuddling with her father, accompanied by these words: “I love you, old man. Rest in peace. Always your little girl.

The singer’s emotional post received numerous compassionate responses from friends in the entertainment industry and her supporters.

Distraught Dappy likewise conveyed the sorrowful update by sharing a video featuring him with his uncle, accompanied by a gentle dove symbol.

Tulisa commented on the post with a broken heart emoji and Dappy wrote: ‘I’m so sorry T.’

Last year, I’m A Celebrity fans were stunned to discover her father was also famous.

They were surprised to discover her dad was a keyboard player from the band Mungo Jerry.

The band, known as Mud, was established by Ray Dorset in 1970 and became well-known for their popular song “In the Summertime.

Tulisa’s uncle, who is also Dappy’s father, served as the bassist in their band, N-Dubz, and eventually took on the role of the group’s manager.

Fans pointed out a fascinating fact about Tulisa and Dappy’s family background when they mentioned, ‘Were you aware that their uncle was part of the band Mungo Jerry, renowned for the hit song “In the Summertime”?’

‘I did not know that Tulisa Contostavlos’ dad was the keyboard player in Mungo Jerry.’

‘Little piece of trivia. Tulisa’s father and uncle were in the band Mungo Jerry.’

In the 1970s, the Contostavlos family departed from Africa and settled in London, dwelling in a spacious six-bedroom property situated in the verdant neighborhood of Brondesbury. Their patriarch, Tulisa’s grandfather, held a prominent position as a diplomat with the United Nations.

Following a global tour with Mungo Jerry, Plato subsequently made his way back to London. In the year 1984, he reunited with Ann Byrne, Tulisa’s mother, and in the subsequent four years, Tulisa came into existence.

In the ’80s, a gifted vocalist and impersonator named Ann found brief fame alongside her siblings Louisa, Paula, and Moira as part of the swing band, Jeep.

Additionally, she made an appearance on the brief-running talent competition Go For It, where her performance took on the persona of the legendary Hollywood starlet Marilyn Monroe.

Unbeknown to Plato, however, Ann had suffered a mental breakdown two years before they met.

In her early years, Tulisa was initially affected by a schizoaffective disorder, which recurred when she was just two. At the same time, Ann started experiencing auditory hallucinations.

Ann’s state of health worsened significantly, resulting in frequent stays at the local Royal Free Hospital’s psychiatric ward.

That period was incredibly challenging for the family. With Plato taking care of Tulisa by himself, their absence left their young daughter initially confused as to where her mother had gone.

The couple split up when Tulisa was 10.

Following the split, Plato shifted residence to live with his parents at their £1.2 million, five-bedroom home in West Hampstead. Meanwhile, Tulisa continued to reside with her mom.

The singer found herself taking on the main caregiver responsibilities as her mother struggled with both bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.
