TSM, a popular esports organization from North America, has announced it’s leaving the VALORANT competitive scene after five years.
As a longtime fan, it’s really sad to see TSM leave VALORANT. They were one of the first big North American teams to jump into the scene way back in 2020, and I was so hopeful they’d make it to the top tier. Unfortunately, after losing to ENVY, they just couldn’t secure promotion, and now they’re stepping away after five years. It’s a tough break.
The 2024 comeback
TSM hoped their 2024 VALORANT roster would turn things around, as the team hadn’t been performing as well as they wanted. They hadn’t reached the top spot since winning the North America Stage 3 Challengers 2 tournament back in 2021. After three years without a championship, TSM decided to rebuild the team, marking their second roster overhaul, following a similar change in 2022.
In 2024, the team finished 6th in VCT Ascension Americas, preventing them from reaching the top tier of competition. The next year showed improvement, with wins in several smaller tournaments and a strong performance in VCT Ascension Americas 2025. They seemed poised for a breakthrough, but ultimately lost to ENVY 1–3 in the Grand Finals, missing their chance at promotion.
TSM says goodbye to VALORANT
I was really sad to see TSM announce they’re leaving VALORANT on November 3rd. They explained that they’ve been working hard for three years to get to the top level, slowly improving each year, and they even made it to the Ascension Grand Finals in 2025. But after five years, they’ve decided to step away from the game, and it doesn’t sound like they’ll be coming back anytime soon. It’s a tough loss for the scene, and I’ll definitely miss seeing them compete.
Following this difficult news, the players are now available to sign with other teams and explore new options. We want to wish all the TSM players and staff the very best in their future endeavors.
