The controversy surrounding the Try Guys’ cheating scandal has resurfaced now that Ned Fuller and his soon-to-be ex-wife, Ariel, have publicly shared their side of the story.
After Ned publicly admitted to an affair with a coworker in 2022 – an admission that led to him losing his job – he and his partner appeared together for the first time at the launch of his new podcast, Rock Bottom, to address the remaining questions about the situation.
Ariel shared on the show that she learned about the affair through her fans, explaining how much the discovery affected her.
I was completely shocked when someone sent me a picture; it was as if my brain just couldn’t process what I was seeing, she explained.
I honestly didn’t realize who it was at first. I mistakenly thought it was your sister, and I even texted you asking what she was doing in New York.
Reflecting on it later, Ariel confessed she still finds it hard to understand what happened. She wondered how she hadn’t realized what was happening at the time.

She wondered what was wrong with her thinking that prevented her from understanding what was happening in the image.
After the scandal became public, Ariel admitted she found it difficult to trust anyone – not her husband, her friends, or even strangers.
She explained she’d stayed indoors because of the constant presence of cameras, feeling it wasn’t safe to go out. It took her a considerable amount of time to recover and feel like herself again.
The episode finally addressed the long-standing question of whether the two are still a couple.
‘We are still friends, we have children together, we go on trips together,’ said Ned.
Relationships aren’t always simple. Sometimes people are connected in some ways, but not in the traditional sense of being a couple. It’s not always a clear yes or no – they might not be together as a romantic pair anymore.
Added Ned: ‘We really haven’t been at all these last three years.’
Ariel also made it unmistakably clear that she has ‘absolutely not’ forgiven him for his betrayal.

In the episode, Ariel was asked if she’d forgiven Ned for his actions. She responded emphatically, ‘How can you forgive someone who lied and cheated? Absolutely not.’
We’ve been together for a long time, and you’re the father of our two wonderful children. We know each other very well.
It means a lot to me that we’ve gotten through everything and I can still enjoy being with you and watching our kids have fun. That feels like a real success.
The podcast comes just days after Ned spoke out publicly for the first time about the affair.
He told People magazine that he used to avoid social media and the internet completely. This came after a scandal led him to essentially disappear from online platforms.
‘I didn’t think it was particularly beneficial to my mental health,’ he added.
Fulmer explained to the publication that he told his wife, Ariel-the person he considered most important to him-about his affair before trying to understand his own actions and why he’d been unfaithful.
He admitted it was ‘devastating’ to recognize the amount of ‘pain’ his infidelity had caused Ariel.

Looking back, Fulmer said he would most want to change how he treated her.
We tried everything to fix things, honestly. We even went to couples counseling, which was… tough. I could just *tell* he was secretly wondering if we’d ever get past what happened, if our marriage could even survive his mistake. It was heartbreaking, seeing him question everything, but we kept going, hoping for a miracle.
The former Try Guys member explained that being truly honest had actually been a challenge in their relationship, so he and Ariel worked on restoring trust and building a strong base for the future.
He said things are definitely better now. They have a much better understanding of each other’s limits and are more respectful of them. They’re also more honest and straightforward, even when it’s difficult.
Fulmer stated that he considered every dollar spent on couples therapy to be a worthwhile investment, as he saw clear improvements in his family’s well-being.
The peaceful retreat he and Ariel found was disrupted when he confessed he longed for a creative outlet, especially after being removed from The Try Guys.
Fulmer explained he rediscovered his passion for creating things. He said he’s the kind of person who would happily participate in a community theater production even without getting paid – he simply loves the creative process.
Driven by this passion, he created his podcast, Rock Bottom, where he interviews people who have faced and conquered difficult times, focusing on their most challenging moments.
Going through a public scandal has made me much more empathetic to others facing difficult situations,” Fulmer explained. “When someone makes a serious mistake or experiences something deeply upsetting, they still have to keep living. I started wondering what happens to them after the initial fallout.
He’ll discuss a difficult time in his life at the premiere on Wednesday, September 17th, during an interview with his soon-to-be ex-wife.
Fulmer explained that the conversation became incredibly difficult, to the point where they felt like leaving the room. He noted that while discussing sensitive topics is common in therapy, having that conversation knowing it was being filmed was particularly challenging. However, after seeing the completed episode, the group felt a sense of accomplishment and pride.
The YouTube personality explained that his new podcast will be very different from the fun, comedic style of the Try Guys. He’s grown a lot ‘as a person and as an artist’ and wants to show people he’s more complex than the simple, often exaggerated image he previously presented.
Okay, so here’s the deal: I’ve been following the Try Guys situation closely, and it’s become clear that Ned Fulmer intentionally built a very specific image for himself – the ‘wife guy’. He did this through constantly talking about how much he loved his wife, Ariel, as part of his public persona with the group. It seems like that image wasn’t entirely genuine, and that’s what’s causing so much discussion right now.
Fans really connected with that side of me, so I started to emphasize it intentionally. It was a genuine part of my experience, and I imagine it was difficult for viewers to see me portrayed differently.
Fulmer acknowledged that his on-camera behavior towards his wife didn’t reflect a healthy or realistic relationship.
I’m just so relieved! He said he *hopes* they’re finally in a good place, now that they’ve decided to keep things more private. And honestly? It’s a huge weight off my shoulders that they’re protecting their kids and keeping them out of the spotlight. It feels like they’re finally prioritizing what *really* matters, and I couldn’t be happier for them. I’ve been following them for so long, and this feels like a healthy step!
Look, I’ve been following this whole situation closely, and when people started saying he was just exploiting his mistakes for profit, I thought he had a good point. He explained that a lot of us *wanted* him to be honest about what happened, and I think that’s true. We wanted to hear his side of things, and he felt like he owed it to us to be open about the affair.
He explained that after going through a difficult experience, it’s important for him to reconnect with his identity and share that journey with his audience. He understands people are interested in hearing about what happened and seeing how he’s moved forward, and feels this is a crucial step in starting fresh.
Even though he said his marriage to Ariel was solid, TMZ reported on Tuesday that they had actually separated.
The publication also acquired a picture of him with a woman whose identity is unknown, taken at the Zebulon music club in Los Angeles on September 7th.

According to a witness, Fulmer spent a considerable amount of time talking to the woman, but they didn’t observe any public displays of affection.
They added that he seemed to have accompanied the woman to the venue.
On Tuesday, a representative for Fulmer announced to People magazine that he and Ariel have split up.
Sources say he still cares a lot about his wife, even though they’re separated, and they’re reportedly collaborating on a new project that hasn’t been revealed yet.
Okay, so I’ve been digging, and apparently they *were* in Greece this summer with the kids! Can you believe it? It’s just…wild to think about. The rep said they went, but wouldn’t say if they were already on the rocks then. Like, were they pretending for the kids? Were they secretly miserable? Ugh, I need answers! It’s killing me trying to piece it all together.
