Martha Stewart and Drew Barrymore have dismissed the rumors of a disagreement that have been circulating for several months. They’ve effectively put an end to the speculation about a feud between them.

The rumor started when Martha was a guest on Drew’s show last November and unexpectedly faced the host’s well-known trick.

Drew is often noticed for her overly affectionate interactions with guests, sometimes getting down on her knees and embracing them in ways that make many viewers uncomfortable.

Last year on the show, Drew, 50, attempted to touch Martha’s, 84, shoulder, but the lifestyle expert sharply moved his hand away.

People quickly noticed the uncomfortable exchange and saw it as proof that there was tension between them – however, Martha returned to Drew’s show this week and denied the rumors.

“Got it, Martha, I’ll stop petting you,” Drew said with a playfully dramatic sigh. His guest reinforced the request: “Okay, seriously, no petting.”

Martha shared: ‘I saw your program and noticed you gave a lot of people affection,’ before turning to the crowd and asking: ‘She seems very warm and friendly, doesn’t she? I’m not quite as approachable like that.’

During her November appearance on the show, Drew inquired about what ‘makes you feel soft and gooey,’ to which Martha responded with: ‘Soft and gooey treatment.‘

At that moment, Drew began gently touching Martha’s shoulder, playfully flirting with her and asking, ‘Soft and gooey treatment? Is this how you like to be treated, like a lady?‘

Shortly after the shoulder massage began, Martha pushed Drew’s hand away, telling her, ‘you’re the wrong gender.’

Last year, while speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Drew admitted that maintaining physical distance is challenging for her, saying, ‘I’ll try to practice physical distance, which is not my strong point.‘

She explained that her performance on the show was influenced by the timing of its debut – September 2020 – which coincided with the COVID-19 lockdowns. She felt the circumstances surrounding the premiere significantly impacted her approach.
