Hacks has been renewed for a fifth season at Max.

On their Instagram page before the final episode of season four airs tomorrow, the streaming platform shared news about it. They posted clips featuring the main actors, Jean Smart and Hannah Einbinder, expressing their reactions to this announcement.

Smart, the star of the series, expressed his excitement about “Hacks” being officially renewed for a fifth season. He plays comedian Deborah Vance in the show.

The story revolves around the character of Deborah, an acclaimed comedian known for her wit, who brings on board a struggling, jobless writer named Ava Daniels to breathe new life into her act. Fearing she might lose her coveted casino residency, Deborah seeks fresh ideas from Ava.

Throughout its broadcast, the show has received widespread praise from critics. Remarkably, seasons one and two have each achieved a flawless 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Additionally, seasons three and four have maintained impressive scores of 98% and 97%.
