Troubled Mickey Rourke spotted enjoying swanky dinner in LA as money woes and eviction drama loom

Despite growing money problems, Hollywood star Mickey Rourke was still seen enjoying the Los Angeles nightlife, as revealed in exclusive photos obtained by Daily Mail.

People recently saw the 73-year-old actor enjoying a meal at the popular Italian restaurant, The Little Door. This was shortly before photos emerged showing him looking much thinner and having lost his hair, raising concerns about his financial difficulties.

Despite everything, Robert Downey Jr. looked stylish at a recent event in West Hollywood. He wore a cream-colored jacket with a matching cowboy hat and shoes.

He appeared in great spirits as he walked and talked with a friend.

The actor, once a major star, was already being evicted due to unpaid rent, which prompted a fundraising campaign earlier this month.

The Daily Mail reports that the actor, who generally keeps to themselves, received a notice on December 18th demanding almost $60,000 in back rent. Court documents show they have three days to respond.

He reportedly didn’t follow the order, which could lead to him being evicted.

The unearthed images mark a noticeable shift from photos taken earlier last year.

I remember seeing photos of Robert De Niro back in August 2025 at the property that’s now involved in all the financial issues. Honestly, he looked really different – less put-together than usual, and you could just see the stress taking a toll on him. It was a stark contrast to how he normally presents himself.

This latest news follows a difficult year for the actor, who was removed from Big Brother UK due to unacceptable conduct. This is just the newest challenge in a career that has always seen both great success and significant difficulties.

However, his recent evening suggests that Rourke still enjoys luxury, despite increasing difficulties and stress.

Philip Rourke Jr., known professionally as Rourke, has been renting the three-bedroom house since March 30th, and his monthly rent is $5,200.

According to the lawsuit filed by Eric T. Goldie, the monthly rent for the house, which has two and a half bathrooms, increased to $7,000 starting in the second month the tenant, Rourke, lived there.

Besides the $59,100 Rourke supposedly owes in unpaid rent, Goldie is asking the court to make him cover her legal costs and terminate the lease. This would likely force Rourke to move out, even if he were to pay the back rent.

It turned out the actor started a GoFundMe campaign on January 4th to help with financial difficulties.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve seen firsthand how public support can make a real difference, and this recent campaign was a perfect example. It was incredible – they hit their $100,000 fundraising goal in just a matter of days! It really shows how much fans were stepping up to support this star during a difficult time.

A fundraiser for Rourke was started by Liya-Joelle Jones, who said she assisted his manager, Kimberly Hines.

On the website, Jones claimed the page was created with Rourke’s ‘full permission.’

However, in a video posted to Rourke’s Instagram the next day, he stated he wouldn’t accept handouts, even though he’d described the house as having damaged floors and a rat problem. He also said he wasn’t aware of the fundraising effort.

The actor, wearing a bright pink shirt, said he was both confused and frustrated by what was happening.

In a video clip, he stated that if he ever needed money, he would never rely on charity. He shockingly added that he’d prefer to take his own life rather than ask for help.

Rourke said he had no idea what a GoFundMe was, adding, ‘My life is pretty straightforward, and I wouldn’t rely on outside help like that.’

Honestly, I found the whole thing pretty embarrassing, but you know what? I’m a firm believer in moving on, and I’m confident I’ll shake it off like I do with everything else. Life’s too short to dwell on things that don’t serve you!

He asked his supporters to stop donating to the campaign and to get their money back if they had already contributed.

According to a GoFundMe representative, the fundraising campaign was taken down last Friday, and all donors received full refunds by the previous Wednesday.

Hines previously told The Hollywood Reporter they had offered Mickey support, and he’d responded positively. However, Hines doesn’t believe Mickey fully understood what they meant, and now that the story has become a big media event, he’s become upset.

She was thrilled to share that he’s received four movie offers in just the last day. After a long period of silence, people are now reaching out with opportunities, which is fantastic news.

Rory Rourke, despite appearing successful, says he’s actually struggling financially and lives paycheck to paycheck. He also admits he hasn’t managed his career well.

He admitted he hadn’t handled the situation with tact, and explained it took over 20 years of therapy to heal from the resulting emotional harm.

‘I worked very hard to work through that. I’m not that person anymore.’

The actor acknowledged taking a loan from a close friend to help with his money problems, and stated he plans to share the friend’s identity at a later time.

Honestly, it’s one of the things I adore about him. He’s always said he’d never hit up fans – or anyone, really – for money. He’s just not that kind of person, and it’s so refreshing! He’s always been true to himself, and that’s exactly why I’m such a huge fan. It’s just not in his nature to ask for handouts, and he’s made that perfectly clear.
