Tron: Ares Revealed The First Look At Jeff Bridges’ Return, And Fans Are Now Making A Funny Point About Flynn That I Can’t Get Out Of My Head
Being an avid enthusiast of everything related to the world of Tron, from the initial two movies, various video games, and even the fantastic Disney World roller coaster, I can’t hide my excitement about the upcoming third film, “Tron: Ares.” For quite some time, it appeared as though this movie might never materialize, but now, not only is it set to be made, but Jeff Bridges has found a way to reprise his role.
It’s been previously revealed that Jeff Bridges would feature in the upcoming film, contrary to his character Flynn seemingly perishing in Tron: Legacy. In the latest trailer for Tron: Ares, we finally catch a glimpse of Bridges’ return, although it doesn’t provide any answers. However, it has sparked quite a buzz among online viewers, and me included, as Jeff Bridges bears an uncanny resemblance to Marlon Brando in the original Superman.
After spotting it, it becomes quite challenging to forget. The character, dressed in a white gown with white hair, stands against a minimalistic backdrop and bears a radiant emblem reminiscent of Jor-El from Superman, portrayed by Brando. The only element missing is the beard that Bridges sports. Many fans are drawing parallels, with comments such as…
Bro what is Jor-El doing on Tron
It’s undeniable that the actor in the latest Superman film bears a striking resemblance to Jor-El, regardless of which Superman movie you’re referring to. This likeness is likely due to the new Jor-El’s character being influenced by Brando’s performance, featuring similar shades of grey outfits. Additionally, the actor sports a beard, lending him an appearance not unlike Jeff Bridges in Tron: Ares.
In essence, Jeff Bridges in Tron: Legacy doesn’t seem to be too dissimilar from Flynn as portrayed. Their attire was quite similar, though the chest logo – a key element that adds to the superhero-like appearance – was absent. This logo, if it carries any significance, raises an intriguing question. It’s plausible that the likeness could be intentional, given that filmmakers would likely have spotted the resemblance, especially considering the immediate comparisons fans have drawn using comments like @tronparallels…
close enough, welcome back jor-el
There’s a chance that Bridges’ character might take on a job similar to Jor-El’s in the first Superman movie. However, it’s unclear whether he is playing Flynn or just appearing as him. It’s possible that he could be working within the system, providing information to Ares, much like how a pre-recorded Jor-El teaches Christopher Reeve’s Superman.
Regardless of the resemblance between Flynn and Jor-El, or my preoccupation with this likeness when he appears in Tron: Ares, I’m not bothered. What truly excites me is the prospect of a new Tron film, with Jeff Bridges being a part of it, that’s what truly matters to me.
