Tron: Ares first trailer is coming this weekend

On Saturday, April 5th, it’s been confirmed that Walt Disney Studios will unveil the initial trailer for the upcoming movie titled “Tron: Ares.

On their official X account, Disney teased a sneak peek at the upcoming trailer by saying, “Trailer coming up tomorrow. #TronLegacySequel

In the third installment, Jared Leto plays the lead character, Ares. The story unfolds around an advanced artificial intelligence entity called Ares, which originates from the digital realm and is dispatched into our physical world on a perilous assignment. This event signifies humanity’s initial interaction with artificially intelligent beings.

In the short video posted by Disney, we see Ares racing swiftly on a Light Cycle. With warning sirens wailing, it appears he’s trying to outrun the law enforcement, presumably seeking to evade them.

We won’t get additional details until the trailer is fully released tomorrow, but since light cycles are typically part of a virtual environment, it appears that Ares might be transporting his motorcycle into our reality in the upcoming scenes.

For the upcoming third part of the sci-fi series, Leto will be accompanied by actors like Evan Peters, Jodie Turner-Smith, Greta Lee, Sarah Desjardins, Cameron Monaghan, Gillian Anderson, and Jeff Bridges.

Last year, Bridges, known for his roles as Kevin Flynn in the 1982 film “Tron” and its 2010 sequel “Tron: Legacy”, expressed apprehension about collaborating with Leto.

Jeff Bridges shared that he will be participating in the third installment of the Tron saga on Saturday. He also mentioned that Jared Leto is the lead in this new chapter, and Bridges is eagerly looking forward to collaborating with him, as he has always respected Leto’s talent.

Earlier on, regarding the movie, the director of the third installment, Joachim Rønning expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “It’s a privilege to be involved with the Tron series, and I can’t wait to share this fresh film with fans globally.

Tron: Ares continues the tradition of pioneering design, technology, and narrative. The timing now seems particularly fitting for a revisit to the Grid.

Tron: Ares is expected in cinemas on October 10, 2025.
