Trisha Goddard gives an update on her metastatic breast cancer battle as she celebrates turning 68

Trisha Goddard shared a heartfelt update about her ongoing battle with metastatic breast cancer, revealing the news as she celebrated her 68th birthday on social media.

The TV host shared a joyful message, writing: ‘If anyone asks how I’m feeling on my 68th birthday, especially while living with metastatic breast cancer…’

The Celebrity Big Brother contestant is battling secondary breast cancer, which means the cancer has spread to other parts of her body. She also has Raynaud’s syndrome, a condition that limits blood circulation to her fingers and toes.

This condition, sometimes caused by cancer treatments like chemotherapy, can alter skin color and lead to sensations of burning or numbness.

With her own birthday and Christmas just around the corner, Trisha seemed incredibly happy and energetic in the video, smiling and dancing as she exclaimed, ‘I made it!’

’68 today!

Hearing the words “Your cancer has returned” is devastating. And when you constantly see “cancer” and “terminal” in the news, it’s easy to feel like there’s no hope left.

Scientists and the medical community now recognize metastatic cancer as a life-limiting illness, and there’s a clear reason why.

‘New drugs, new treatments, new medical breakthroughs.

‘There’s a whole list of people I’d like to thank;

She went on to say, ‘To my wonderful husband and children, my amazing doctors and nurses, my dear friends who have stuck by me, and to all of you watching – thank you.’

‘Your kind words, laughter and encouragement means I celebrate you all!

This follows Trisha’s revelation earlier this year, in April, while appearing on Celebrity Big Brother, that she is living with stage four cancer.

I always make sure I’m feeling my best before going into the house, and I shared with the Daily Mail that I had a visit to the infusion centre on April 1st. I actually like to think of it as my little ‘spa room’ – it really helps me stay well!

I received a small dose of chemotherapy followed by targeted hormone therapy, delivered through an IV line connected to a port placed in my chest.

The following day, I flew to the UK. To protect myself during the journey, I wore compression tights and a sleeve on my arm, and I wiped down my seat, tray table, armrests, and the bathroom with disinfectant.

My oncologist is amazing – incredibly skilled, but also really kind. He told me he wanted to help me through this because he believes my positive attitude and hopeful outlook are inspiring.

After arriving in England, she had an ultrasound to rule out a blood clot in her leg, and also received a general medical check-up. Thankfully, the ultrasound showed no clot.

Trisha joined Celebrity Big Brother hoping to inspire her patients to embrace life, even after a stage four cancer diagnosis. She wanted to show them there was no need to be afraid.
