Trinny Woodall Sells Home to Launch Cosmetics Empire, Worries About Daughter’s Future

As a fervent admirer, I can’t help but share this heartfelt tale from the legendary Trinny Woodall. She unveiled a significant business decision she made, bravely confronting concerns about her daughter Lyla’s future at the tender age of 21.

This past week, a 60-year-old entrepreneur, fresh off of appearing on BBC’s Dragon’s Den, launched the popular brand Trinny London, which she initially started in her very own kitchen all the way back in 2017.

Currently a thriving multi-million-dollar cosmetics company, this business is well-known in many households, a testament to the dedication and investment of the star who even sold her house to kickstart the brand.

Yet, Trinny acknowledged a drawback from being deeply involved with her business that impacts her daughter as well.

In her conversation with the newspaper, she shared that she hasn’t acquired a home yet. Instead, she chose to sell her former residence to establish Trinny London, a venture that took considerable effort on her part. Typically, individuals at age 60 are focused on paying off their mortgages.

I’m deeply invested in Trinny London, and I now feel content with this decision. However, there was a period where I worried that if something were to happen to me, Lyla would be left without a home.

I confessed that I withdrew funds from the company to set aside for purchasing a flat for Lyla. In case of any unforeseen events, this arrangement ensures that everything is taken care of.

On television, Trinny served as the host of “What Not To Wear,” where she became renowned for her direct and honest approach in helping individuals, both men and women, discover a fresh, new style.

Previously, she disclosed that she can be equally sharp in her private affairs. Furthermore, she indicated that if individuals deplete her vitality, she will part ways with them.

On the cover of Woman & Home magazine, the businesswoman and television personality flaunts her fashion sense in a striking leopard-print suit. In an interview, she candidly admitted, “I am firm about cutting ties with individuals in my life.

‘If people drain my energy, they have to go. Friends should bring each other energy.’

2023 marked the end of Trinny’s long-term relationship with Charles Saatchi, an art collector who was previously married to Nigella Lawson, at the age of 81.

Discussing the subject of dating once more, Trinny commented: ‘It’s intriguing to be single in your 50s and 60s… Is there a distinction between stating I’m 59 and dating, versus being 60 and dating?’

Completely different perspective… it’s more about our image rather than the number itself. Previously, 60 felt old, but now it seems equivalent to feeling 40 years old.

She was once married to Lyla’s father, John Elichaoff, a successful businessman, from the years 1999 to 2009. Unfortunately, he ended his life in 2014.

When he passed away, she was in the process of debuting her beauty brand, Trinny London. Over time, she’s managed to expand it into a considerable business empire.

In the year 2001, Trinny and Susannah Constantine gained widespread recognition, primarily due to their roles as co-hosts on What Not To Wear. They became well-known for their candid and insightful fashion guidance.

When discussing our friendship, she stated that among all her relationships, ours stands out as the most balanced. At times, it can get quite deep and demanding, leading us to require occasional pauses. Yet, we wholeheartedly appreciate and accept one another just as we are.

The disclosure occurred following an insistence by her daughter and her fellow actor’s daughter that the show could not proceed today.
