Trick Williams believes the main roster call is coming “sometime soon”
WWE NXT is bursting with skilled performers, and there’s a good chance that both newcomers and veterans could end up in the spotlight. One such contender is Trick Williams, a two-time WWE NXT Champion who has caused quite an impression and might do the same on the main roster. After relinquishing his title to Oba Femi, another rising star, Williams is contemplating a move to the main stage. However, this transition could also mean navigating rough waters.
Williams expressed great self-assurance during his Tailgate Talks interview, stating he believes his call-up to the main roster will happen quite soon. He feels incredibly fortunate for the wrestling career that exceeded his football aspirations. In terms of NXT, there’s arguably no better experience than Trick Williams. Therefore, he feels it’s reasonable to anticipate a main roster call-up in the near future.
On the main stage, Trick Williams presents an intriguing possibility. He’s unexpectedly popped up on both Monday Night Raw and SmackDown, earning thunderous applause from spectators accompanied by the “Whoop That Trick” cheer. Williams has already gained popularity in NXT and appears to have the potential to win favor with the main roster audience. However, the question remains: Will there be opportunities available for him, as they are on NXT?
On both Raw and SmackDown, the rosters are densely packed, leaving less opportunity for every talent to shine as their fans might expect. Many performers aren’t gaining the momentum they deserve. Characters such as Carmelo Hayes and Andrade seem relegated to secondary roles on SmackDown, despite having potential to contribute more significantly to the show. The question arises: where would Williams find a place when it’s his turn to join the main roster?
For quite some time now, WWE has been grappling with a recurring issue: the scarcity of Black male talent in solo performances. Triple H’s actions have sparked criticism, and this topic ignited a heated online debate a few months back. However, little seems to have altered since then. Some fans are pinning their hopes on Trick Williams joining the main roster, but is it reasonable to expect significant change from just one performer? The burden of expectation can be heavy when he eventually arrives, as everyone will scrutinize how he’s utilized upon his arrival.
Williams has been in the field for just four years, and while he’s shown great aptitude for the entertainment aspects of sports entertainment, his performance in the ring could use some refinement. Essentially, he’s not quite there yet, but with more time, he could potentially become one of WWE’s top talents. As it stands, the promotion is gradually focusing on individuals who can deliver both entertaining performances and impressive in-ring skills.
As a dedicated gamer, I can’t help but feel electrified by Trick Williams’ performances on WWE NXT. He’s got this unique knack of connecting with the crowd, making him one of the beloved figures in the show. The buzz is high about whether his success will translate to the main roster. Time will tell, and I can only hope that the journey ahead shines brightly for this promising talent.
