As I delve into the heartwarming story of Tre Lowe and Enas, a couple whose unique journey transcends cultural boundaries, I am deeply moved by their resilience and determination to build a beautiful future together. Tre’s life experiences, particularly his medical challenges, have molded him into a strong, knowledgeable, and compassionate individual. His hands-on approach to fatherhood is truly inspiring, and it speaks volumes about the man he has become.

In an exclusive chat with TopMob, the 49-year-old former Apprentice cast member, along with his 34-year-old partner (who is both an author and refugee advocate), shared heartfelt sentiments about a profound blessing in their lives.

As a passionate entrepreneur, I’ve chosen to share my personal journey of embracing parenthood at a later stage in life. I’ll openly discuss the concerns that cross my mind and the strategies I intend to apply to conquer these apprehensions.

He shared: “It seems common among men like us that we rarely feel fully prepared when it comes to parenthood.

‘There’s a feeling among many men, including us, that we must construct both a home (nest) and a business while maintaining a certain financial balance.’

‘Even if you feel financially prepared, emotional readiness can sometimes lag behind. No matter what you believe, the experience of becoming parents will always be unique and different from your expectations.’

He confessed, “I believe for myself, it’s more like ‘ready or not,’ I’m coming. I don’t know exactly what being a parent will be like, but it’s certain to bring immense blessings to me.

Enas and Tre, who now live in London’s affluent Notting Hill, tied the knot last July.

Expressing some worries regarding his advancing age, the television personality went on to say: “I’ll be hitting 50 in January, and my relatives even tease me about becoming an elderly father. They joke that I won’t be fit enough for football anymore.

Occasionally, during my vulnerable times, I find myself questioning, “Could it be that I waited too long?” as society often assumes only women contemplate the ticking biological clock. However, let me assure you, men also ponder this issue.

“I’ve given it some thought, as my child will likely be starting university when I’ll be around 70 or 71 years old. By the time they graduate, I’ll probably be close to 75.

I often ponder over my health and wellness, wondering if I will remain in good shape as I grow older. Despite appearing younger than my actual age, I’m still the same biologically.

However, to put it simply, if one refuses to embrace discomfort as part of life, then existence seems meaningless for me. This is a principle I consistently adhere to.

I strongly embrace seizing opportunities. Consequently, I chose to participate in The Apprentice, and I find the struggle of life invigorating. In my opinion, the more challenging something is, the stronger one becomes.

As a lifestyle expert, I must admit that the idea of becoming a father at 30 was certainly appealing. However, I’ve come to believe that there are certain advantages to waiting until one is 50. At this stage in life, I feel that I can offer a child not just love and care, but also a wealth of wisdom and experiences that only come with the passage of time. It’s an enriching experience that I wouldn’t have been able to provide at a younger age.

Regardless of the circumstances, there are always advantages to be found. Today, we live in an era where age is no longer a limiting factor. Consequently, one has the freedom to pursue their desires and aspirations at any stage in life. I strongly believe that it’s never too late to excel as a father, even at 50 years old and beyond.

Enas concurred, expressing that she had indeed felt the societal pressure regarding a woman’s biological clock. She had always desired to have children in her thirties, as she wanted them to grow up and become more like her friends.

Additionally, I prefer a more modest age difference with them since the individuals who raised me, being my adoptive parents, were relatively older. My father welcomed me at the age of 50, while my mother might have been around 40 at that time.

Often, both my father and mother have faced health issues, which means I haven’t had the opportunity to spend quality time with them as much as I would like. This situation always leaves me with a sense of worry.

She remarked: “However, when considering the big picture, I feel incredibly fortunate to have a father like mine, and I feel equally blessed to have a mother like mine.

‘What they gave me unlike my friends with the younger parents wasn’t been able to get the same love, the same childhood, the same memories. So, there’s wisdom with age, there is beauty with age, and you can’t guarantee anything in life literally.’

The couple was additionally asked if they might choose Lord Sugar as a godparent, given their close bond during the program.

Tre, who didn’t make it to the final after being eliminated in the second-to-last episode of this season’s series, expressed his admiration for the show’s producer, calling him a ‘wonderful godparent figure’.

He said: ‘God, if anything happened to me. I know my kid is going to be all right. If Lord Sugar was the godparent, can you imagine the wisdom that kid would have.

I’ve been fortunate in numerous aspects, given that my father is an entrepreneur. Remarkably, he immigrated here with nothing, yet managed to amass a substantial amount of wealth.

In this aspect, we find ourselves quite fortunate, as Enas’ family owns properties stretching from Libya all the way here. Yet, one can’t help but exclaim.

If both my creativity and Lord Alan Sugar’s business acumen were combined in my child, they would indeed be well-equipped. They would have the creative aspect covered by me, and their entrepreneurial skills would be honed through Lord Sugar’s influence.

When Tre was 15 years old, he received too much medication after a regular appendix surgery, leading to paralysis.

As I regained my mobility, I found myself grappling with a series of debilitating health issues that persisted for several years. Among these challenges, I faced the daunting struggle of severe tinnitus.

However, remaining positive, Tre said his hospital woes have given him ‘good grounding to make really good choices’.

The contestant from “The Apprentice” stated: “We perform additional scans quite frequently, perhaps more than typical parents might. This is because we aim to gather as much information as we can to help us make informed decisions.

‘Like I said, I think the bad things that happen to you in life actually make you stronger.

Due to the medical circumstances I’ve encountered, they’ve turned me into a stronger individual and significantly more informed about parenting matters, compared to many other fathers, including my own brothers who are also parents. They’re genuinely surprised by how much I know and how actively involved I am in our children’s upbringing.

“I’ve been deeply immersed and actively engaged, mainly due to my passion for everything related to medicine and health. Looking back now, what seemed unfortunate at the time has turned out to be quite beneficial.

In conversation, Enas pointed out that it’s uncommon for Libyans to marry outside of their cultural norms, such as marrying in the manner of the English or Nigerians.

Although they had been friends for six years prior to their engagement in 2022, it was mentioned earlier that some members of Enas’ family initially disliked their relationship due to their diverse cultural backgrounds.

She mentioned, ‘I haven’t encountered any Libyans doing something like this previously, yet I find it thrilling since we hail from vibrant cultures filled with numerous traditions and splendid beauty.’

Enas went on: “I’d prefer our child to absorb elements from both cultures, but with some limitations, since we too have them. As much as possible, I aim to minimize these constraints, because the advantage of learning English is its freedom to express and act as it chooses.

Instead of eagerly discussing the baby’s gender, Tre mentioned their choice to keep the sex a surprise until the birth.

He explained: ‘We’ll get the envelope and not find out. We just had a scan today, and it seems like it’s a boy.

‘It’s quite active and noisy, and seems to have a lot of mischief in it. It’s bursting with energy, and it appears that only boys tend to exhibit this behavior. Girls, on the other hand, seem more reserved. Regardless, I just want a healthy and lovely child, regardless of its gender.’
