Travis Barker’s daughter Alabama, 18, says she will not vote as she’s not ‘educated’ enough and doesn’t ‘care’

Travis Barker's daughter Alabama, 18, says she will not vote as she's not 'educated' enough and doesn't 'care'

As a fervent admirer of the Barker-Kardashian clan, I find myself deeply moved by Alabama Barker’s heartfelt and candid expression about her decision not to vote in this upcoming election. Her life experience, shaped by the limelight that comes with being part of such a high-profile family, has undeniably influenced her perspective on politics and voting.

Alabama Barker, the daughter of Travis Barker, has disclosed her intention to abstain from voting in the upcoming election between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris next month.

18-year-old Alabama mentioned that while she has her own thoughts about the topic, she chooses to remain silent because she feels she hasn’t received comprehensive education on it yet.

She stated during her Instagram Live session on Thursday, “I could choose to learn, yet I wonder, is it necessary if I’m not truly invested? After all, I’m simply being truthful.

She expressed her viewpoint based on her observations, saying something along the lines of, “I believe I’m right about this matter, due to what I’ve witnessed, and it seems to me that one voter is rather disorganized.” She then amended her statement.

She explained, “One of the participants, the contenders for the race or position, is what I’m referring to. You should know this, but I want to be honest: I’m not particularly well-educated. I sometimes feel a bit intellectually challenged,” she added, laughing lightly.

Travis, best known as the drummer for Blink-182, has Alabama and their son, Landon (age 21), in common with his former spouse, Shanna Moakler.

Additionally, he aided in the upbringing of Atiana De La Hoya, Shanna’s oldest child from her past relationship with boxing champion Oscar De La Hoya, who is currently 25 years old.

Currently, Travis is wed to the renowned reality TV personality, Kourtney Kardashian. Together, they became parents to their son, named Rocky Thirteen, in November of 2023.

Alabama, who shares a strong connection with Kourtney but has recently had disagreements in the limelight with her mother, clarified on Thursday the reasons behind her choice not to cast a vote.

She stated that abstaining from voting seems reasonable to her because if she doesn’t possess a thorough understanding of what she’s voting for due to lacking the necessary education, then it wouldn’t be fair for her to cast a vote on something about which she’s not fully informed.

‘While I have the ability to learn, I wonder why bother when my interest isn’t genuine? After all, I’m straightforward. If I’m uninformed about political matters, I don’t feel compelled to cast a vote.’

As a newly-turned adult, I firmly uphold my stance on that matter, given that: To begin with, I’ve never had the opportunity to cast a vote before, as voting eligibility kicks in at the age of 18, a fact we all are aware of. This is the first time I can exercise this democratic right.

Alabama stated: “I have the right not to vote if I choose, and I also have the freedom not to participate in politics if I so decide.

She told her two million Instagram followers: ‘Why do my research on something I’m not very, like – I could educate myself. I do have an opinion.’

Alabama stated, “Based on what I’ve observed, I have my own viewpoint about what seems right to me. To put it casually, one of the voters or candidates appears to be a bit disorganized – let me clarify, I meant one of the people running for office.

With a smile, she playfully shared with her Instagram audience during the live stream: “You know what? I’m not very educated, and I might come across as a little unintelligent.

Three months ago, the admission was made that Alabama, who has firmly dismissed rumors about undergoing plastic surgery, confessed to using an unnamed weight loss medication.

In a makeup tutorial video, she disclosed that she’s currently taking weight-loss medication as she’s fed up with being overweight and feeling like a giant in photos.

Approximately a month ago, Shanna openly announced her use of Mounjaro, a diabetes medication that certain users resort to in order to lose weight.

She shared that she began using Mounjaro as a means to counteract the weight gain she experienced following the passing of her parents last year.

She shared that she had reached a deeply difficult and dark point in her life. Her self-care routines, which included dieting and exercising, ceased. Instead, she found herself consuming food indiscriminately due to her overwhelming feelings of sadness. She missed her parents dearly and expressed this frustration. In an attempt to cope, she felt compelled to fill the void with food, saying, “I’m going to eat away the pain.” This was shared in an interview with People magazine.

During that time, photographers from the Kardashian media whirlwind were swarming at my doorstep along with Travis. The scene was intense, and I felt overwhelmed, not knowing how to handle it. I felt sad, and longed for my parents immensely.
