‘Traumatizing’ horror sequel leaves moviegoers vomiting in theatres after the last film caused mass walkouts and puking
As someone who has been a dedicated horror fan since I was knee-high to a graveyard ghost, I must say that Terrifier 3 is a cinematic rollercoaster ride of pure terror. The film’s extreme violence and gore have left me both awestruck and slightly queasy – in the best possible way!
The premiere of a fresh horror movie sequel led to numerous exits from cinemas and even made one viewer vomit during the initial showing.
This week, “Terrifier 3” was screened in both the United States and the United Kingdom, leaving some viewers ‘shaken up’ due to its intense graphic violence and gory content.
In 2022, the final movie of the series, “Terrifier 2,” gained immense popularity by causing audiences to vomit in cinemas, and it appears that the third installment will follow a similar trend.

One fan was also confirmed to have puked in the movie, with more expected to follow as Terrifier 3 is rolled out across more theatres.
This week, Bloody Disgusting shared a promotional video featuring people’s responses to the movie. One viewer expressed, “It was indeed quite a bit.
I must admit, that was downright terrifying, yet captivating! It’s left me feeling somewhat rattled,” I confess. And another chimes in, ” frankly, it was appalling.
‘It was depraved. So many people walked out,’ said another woman.
2022 saw the unexpected blockbuster success of Terrifier 2, raking in over $15 million at the box office on a meager production budget of just $250,000.
Nevertheless, upon director Damien Leone’s attempt to secure funding for another sequel in Hollywood, he encountered resistance from several significant studios because of the movie’s excessive violence.
Last year, he shared that he had the opportunity to sit down with some major Hollywood production companies, including those behind Terrifier 3, as reported by JoBlo.
As a diehard fan, even before I had a draft, merely the triumph of the second installment had me on edge, with whispers in meetings that I sensed watching over my shoulder. They seemed apprehensive about the intensity of the violence and other details, but… I carried on.
Without even reading my script or understanding my vision, I could tell that it was highly unlikely they would give me the green light for Terrifier 3, given its initial five pages. That’s how unconventional and extreme Terrifier 3 appears to be.
Leone emphasized that the initial scene is so shockingly gruesome that a typical film production company wouldn’t even consider allowing him to shoot it.
Take note, I assure you that the opening five minutes of this film are bound to stir up quite a debate.
‘But that’s not even the big kill scene. So like that’s why I was like, I need to just make this movie on my own, because it’s just too… it’s too insane.’
The Terrifier franchise tell the story of Art The Clown, a demonic killer who terrorizes the residents of Miles County, New York.
The third film sees Art go on a murderous rampage at Christmas.
The scene was so distressing that, while filming, actor David Howard Thornton (who plays Art) came very close to vomiting on the set.
The first Terrifier, made on a tiny budget of just $60,000, was released in 2016.
The film gained widespread popularity following its premiere, primarily because of an exceptionally gruesome death sequence where someone was dismembered using a hacksaw.
