At the age of 19, the ex-child beauty pageant queen turned reality television personality is prepared to clarify the true events happening off-camera during her glitzy television existence.
The trailer, launched on Thursday, showcases Honey Boo Boo criticizing her mother, Mama June Shannon. She alleges that the affection Mama June showed her during her childhood was primarily ‘conditional’, not genuinely loving.
According to Thompson, it was consistently the case that I yearned for Mama, yet her affection seemed more like a business deal than a genuine emotion.
The teaser provides an exclusive glimpse into the less glamorous aspects of her journey to stardom, revealing the challenges she faced from early on in life.
In a particular instance, Mama June, having confessed to using $30,000 from Alana’s income yet maintaining her innocence, encourages Alana to expose more of herself, underscoring the intensity of the demands placed upon her for entertainment.
As per Lifetime’s description, the movie delves into the fact that Alana’s bold self-assurance masked a challenging truth of persistent criticism and family turmoil, predominantly focusing on her relationship with Mama June.

A month following Mama June’s public confrontation with her daughter about allegedly taking $30,000 from her wealth, a fiery preview has been released for their reality series titled Family Crisis.
Shannon grinned as she replied, “Here’s your $30,000!” when asked about the missing money.
When asked where her money was, Shannon showed a grin and presented a big plastic check for $30,000.

In another part of the trailer, Lauryn, also known as ‘Pumpkin,’ who is 25 years old, can be heard saying dramatically, ‘We are getting divorced!’ while her husband Josh appears visibly upset.
She also locks horns with sister Jessica “Chubbs” Shannon over their business.
The trailer becomes even more startling as a lawyer remarks, “It’s quite possible the judge might imprison you,” which prompts Alana to forewarn that the family is heading towards a chaotic and intense summer.
Previously, Alana had warned that she would sever ties with her mother if she didn’t agree to return the money Alana claimed was stolen from her.
In a 2024 episode of their family reality series, the teenage daughter and her elder sibling, Lauryn ‘Pumpkin’ Shannon, had a discussion with their mom about the funds earmarked for the teenager’s higher education expenses.
Following the matriarch’s decision not to cover her youngest daughter’s tuition, which she deemed as unnecessary spending, Pumpkin accused Mama June of being unhelpful and claimed that she had lost half a million dollars on a bag of worthless drugs.
The situation rapidly escalated into a heated confrontation as Mama June flatly rejected the accusations of betrayal and chose not to relinquish the funds, prompting the teenager to threaten legal action and file a lawsuit against her mother.
