Fans of “The Traitors” applauded a shocking turn of events just moments into the first episode, as host Claudia Winkleman unveiled yet another significant alteration to the game’s dynamics.

On a Wednesday evening, the third installment began in the Scottish Highlands, with the initial selection of the first three Traitors taking place.

Or, more casually:
On hump day, we launched into the third round up in the Scottish Highlands, choosing the first crop of three Traitors then.

But the drama began before they even arrived as when they were heading to the castle on the train.

25 individuals were divided among three train compartments, and each compartment experienced a massive surprise as the train came to an abrupt halt.

After Claudia gave the instruction, the train began to reverse its direction. Each compartment was tasked with selecting a single individual who would exit both the train and the performance.

It’s uncertain whether Jack, Alexander, and Fozia have permanently left the show or if they might reappear at a later point.

As I eagerly watched the unfolding events, my heart raced when Claudia announced an intriguing twist in the show. She disclosed that, from now on, when contestants are eliminated, their identities as Traitors or Faithful will remain hidden! The suspense is overwhelming!

In this show, multiple Traitors are chosen at its onset, with the remaining participants being Loyalists.

Throughout the game, it’s the job of the Traitors to persuade other players that they are Loyal ones, hoping to secretly grab the entire winnings at the game’s conclusion.

In the initial meeting, it was determined that Armani, Minah, and Linda would be the first three contestants labeled as Traitors. During the first night, these three individuals secretly took the life of Yin, leading to her removal from the program.

Following Claudia’s revelation of a significant hint about the selection process for The Traitors, the fan-favorite series made its comeback.

This week, as I reflected on the origins of The Traitors, I felt compelled to clarify: “I don’t single-handedly select them, nor do I possess divine status.

Claudia included her conversations with every player during the initial episode, which viewers observe, mark just the start of the selection process.

‘I don’t exhale until January 24, I wake up at 4am, even on Strictly Saturday’s,’ she said.

Originally, I was discussing people’s Cha Cha dancing skills, yet the thought that crossed my mind is, “Do they prefer The Traitors?

We were completely astounded by the success of the initial project, as it exceeded all our expectations.

Not only do I truly enjoy the process, but it’s a genuine privilege to be part of this roundtable discussion and witness its development.

She continued to share that she maintains relationships with former contestants from the initial two seasons, and added that by the finale of shooting, many of them address her as ‘mommy’.

In my world, these entities are akin to my cherished offspring, whom at times I may unintentionally treat harshly. Yet, my affection for them is boundless – each one holds a special place in my heart. Just yesterday, I found myself exchanging messages with Maddie from the early seasons.

I reached out to Matt, who is Charlotte’s aunt and was featured in the first season, to demonstrate his latest talent – skateboarding. By the end of our interaction, he started addressing me as ‘Auntie Claude’ or ‘mummy,’ which feels odd.

I maintain contact with each one of them due to my immense gratitude for their unique performances. It was genuinely heart-wrenching when someone was expelled this year, and I wept profusely – a reaction I felt might have been excessive and potentially harmful.

‘And two of them came out, and they were awesome. Three of us just cried together. We go deep.’

Speaking at an event hosted by Alan Cummings, she admitted her difficulty in watching the show due to her protective feelings towards the castle.

‘I’m not saying anything bad, but I can’t watch him, because he’s in my castle,’ she said.

Gosh, I can’t help but be baffled! It just felt so off-kilter. He’s not odd at all, he’s downright enchanting! Yet, when I peeked for a moment, it was a hard nope.

Previously, Claudia shared with The Midpoint podcast that at first, she declined the offer to host the show as she wasn’t keen on spending over three weeks working in Scotland.

The star was offered the job but turned it down because she didn’t want to be away from her family.

However, upon viewing the original Dutch broadcast, she developed a strong interest and promptly emailed executives at the BBC to alter her initial decision.
