Tragic News: Oscar-Winning Actor Gene Hackman and Wife Found Dead in Their Home

In Santa Fe, New Mexico, it was reported on Wednesday that Gene Hackman, an Academy Award-winning actor, and his wife were discovered deceased in their home by the authorities.

It appears no signs of suspicious activity have been found, but the authorities haven’t disclosed specifics about how they died. Instead, they mentioned that an examination is still in progress.

According to Denise Avila, spokesperson for Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to carry out a welfare check at a residence on Wednesday afternoon, approximately 1:45 pm local time. Upon arrival, they tragically discovered the deceased individuals – Hackman, his wife Betsy Arakawa, and a pet dog.

95-year-old Hackman, a five-time Academy Award nominee, graced the screens in numerous films. Respected and admired throughout the industry, he took home two Oscars – for his roles in “The French Connection” and “Unforgiven”. Remarkably, these two awards were earned 21 years apart.

News of his death comes just four days before this year’s Academy Awards ceremony.

Apart from making occasional appearances at award ceremonies, he generally stayed out of the limelight in the Hollywood social scene and decided to retire when he reached his mid-70s.

An email sent to his publicist was not immediately returned early Thursday.
