Tragic Loss: ‘Latin Marilyn Monroe’ Cindyana Santangelo Passes at 58

Actress Cindyana Santangelo – better known as ‘the Latin Marilyn Monroe‘ has died at age 58.

On Monday afternoon, the star was urgently taken to a hospital following reports of a medical crisis at her Malibu residence, as reported by TMZ.

The actress was pronounced dead, although her cause of death is still unclear.

Her most recognized performances include dancing as Sierra Madre on Married With Children and acting alongside Harrison Ford and Josh Hartnett in Hollywood Homicide.

The nickname “Latin Marilyn Monroe” was coined by Perry Farrell of Jane’s Addiction during an interview with Spin Magazine.

In addition to her roles, Cindyana featured prominently in several music video productions, such as Young MC’s “Bust a Move,” which debuted back in 1989.

In 1990, her voice was featured in the beginning of Jane’s Addiction’s song Stop. 

In 1990, she first appeared in a full-length movie titled “The Adventures of Ford Fairlane.” According to IMDb, she portrayed the character Lydia, who was deceased.

She also appeared in CSI: Miami, ER and The Bo-Bo & Skippy Show.

Cindyana was born in Manhattan, New York City, and was raised on the West Coast. 

She got a scholarship for the Lee Strasberg School in London at age 19, per iMDB. 

Cindyana also attended NUC’s Tisch School of Arts and USC’s School of Cinema and Television.
