The cause of death for the Days of Our Lives actor, Francisco San Martin, has been revealed following his unexpected demise at the age of 39.
On Thursday, January 16, it was reported that the actor, famed for playing Dario Hernandez on the soap opera, was allegedly discovered at his residence in Los Angeles by the police.
According to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office, Martin took his own life through hanging, as reported by Deadline.
Initially, Francisco made his debut on Days Of Our Lives in the year 2011, portraying a minor crook. However, as the story unfolded, it became clear that he had come to Salem not for mischief, but rather to explore an old, unsolved case.
The character relocated to Argentina due to work, and from 2016-17, Jordi Vilasuso took on the role of depicting him.
Francisco is also known for appearing on The Bold And The Beautiful as groundskeeper Mateo in 2017.
In 2017, he frequently appeared on the popular series Jane The Virgin, portraying the character of Fabian Regalo del Cielo, who managed an estate.
Additionally, it’s worth mentioning that Francisco made a brief appearance in the Steven Soderbergh movie “Behind the Candelabra,” which featured Michael Douglas and Matt Damon as the main characters.
As reported by Forbes, Camila Banus, a previous cast member of Days Of Our Lives alongside Francisco (who portrayed his on-screen sister Gabi), posted a heartfelt tribute on Instagram.
Dear Pepe, there isn’t much I can say except that I love you deeply and may you find peace. I adore you so much, so very much; if only I could have expressed my feelings for you better.
Others expressed their condolences on social media through this message: ‘Extremely sad. I was quite taken aback because I saw Francisco almost daily at the gym.’
‘May Francisco San Martin rest in peace. May God grant strength to his family.’
This sentence conveys a similar sentiment as the original, expressing sympathy for the deceased and offering support to their family during this difficult time. The second part of the sentence is asking for divine intervention, providing comfort and strength to the family left behind.
Francisco hails from Mallorca, Spain, but grew up in Montana. His acting journey commenced on the stage of children’s theater during his time in the United States.
After reaching his teenage years, he and his family eventually returned to live in Spain. From there, he started his career as a model and enrolled in acting workshops.
He later appeared in several Spanish stage, television and film productions.
