Tragic Loss: Australia’s Next Top Model Star Lucy Markovic Passes Away at Just 27

27-year-old Lucy Markovic, a previous Australia’s Next Top Model competitor and internationally recognized model, has tragically passed away.

News of her death was announced by her partner via her Instagram Story on Friday.

‘Dear friends and family, I regret to inform you that Lucy has passed,’ the statement read.

‘She was at peace. Me, her mother and my mother were present with her.

‘We ask you to please give us space in these hard times. May Lucy rest in peace.’

Lucy, starring in season 9, experienced a critical condition due to a brain abnormality called an Arteriovenous Malformation (AVM). This necessitated immediate surgery, leading her to fall into a coma earlier this week.

Her management, Elite Model Management NYC, also made a statement on social media.

It was sadly announced that Lucy Markovic, who fought bravely against a brain AVM, has tragically passed away.

Lucy radiated brilliance and possessed a unique, witty humor that was as dry as the desert. Her smile and laughter possessed the power to illuminate any space, inviting others to be drawn towards her. Dancing was something she truly excelled in, making her shine even brighter.

It was a privilege to be involved in Lucy’s dream of modeling, and we’re grateful for the role we played in her remarkable journey. Not only did she embody grace, power, and charm in her work, but she also shared her genuine self – her kindness, her joy, and her radiance.
