Tragic Cruise Ship Death: Argument Before Fiancee’s Fall Raises Eyebrows

Before the unfortunate passing of Kimberly Burch, Taime Downe (the lead singer of Faster Pussycat) and she were heard having a heated disagreement, according to bystanders on a cruise ship.

56-year-old Burch tragically plunged from a balcony attached to a room on the Royal Caribbean’s Explorer of the Seas during the inaugural night of The 80s Cruise on March 2.

According to a reliable insider, DailyMail.com learned on an exclusive basis that while Burch and Downe, who is 60 years old, appeared to have a fantastic relationship and were seemingly deeply in love, there were reports of them arguing coming from their cabin, as overheard by passengers in nearby cabins.

An insider mentioned that the dispute transpired inside their cabin; however, their neighbors could only hear raised voices but didn’t catch any particular words being shouted.

‘Despite some minor hiccups, their relationship appeared incredibly strong as neither of them ever voiced dissatisfaction, large or small. It was evident that they deeply cared for each other.’

It was mentioned that there were rumors that Burch was intoxicated on the night she passed away, but it was also stated that Burch generally didn’t consume alcohol and had actually assisted Downe in maintaining his sobriety.

We’ve reached out to the spokespersons of Taime Downe and Royal Caribbean Cruises for additional information.

A representative for Royal Caribbean Group affirmed to DailyMail.com that Burch had passed away; they swiftly initiated a search and rescue operation, collaborated with local law enforcement, and are offering aid and comfort to the bereaved family during this challenging period.

‘To respect the privacy of our guest’s family, we have no additional details to share.’

Real estate agent Kimberly joined a week-long cruise to back Taime, who was part of the punk band, in their performance. This voyage started from Miami and planned stops included Nassau, San Juan, and Labadee.

She had been in a relationship with Downe for around six years. Her body has not been recovered.

Just prior to her passing, she was seen alongside Downe on the vessel and penned down: ‘We’ve arrived at #1980sCruise.’

As a lifestyle expert, I can share that recently, I received heartbreaking news about my beloved daughter, Kimberly. Her mother, Carnell Burch, shared with TMZ that Kimberly’s passing occurred onboard a ship, and the circumstances surrounding her death are still under investigation. It seems there’s uncertainty whether she jumped or accidentally fell, but Mrs. Burch is confident that my daughter, Kimberly, would never intentionally harm herself.

On the cruise, Carnell stated that Kimberly was consuming alcohol, an action that was unexpected of her. Additionally, he mentioned that Kimberly’s daughter had a disagreement with Taime prior to her passing.

At that moment, Carnell emphasized that her daughter wasn’t dealing with depression or emotional problems, instead, she was thrilled about the vacation. Notably, this journey was just beginning, and it offered an array of musical performances, such as Squeeze, Adam Ant, Tiffany, and Men at Work on its inaugural day.

It is reported that Kimberly allegedly leaped from her eighth-story balcony during the first night of the cruise, approximately 11pm Pacific Standard Time, which was about 80 miles off the coast of Miami, according to a guest’s statement on X.

At present, they are aboard the RCL Explorer of the Seas, taking part in the #80scruise. Regrettably, there’s a distressing incident involving a woman overboard, and rescue boats have been launched. As of now, we are more than 80 miles away from Miami, around 11pm PST. This isn’t looking good.

It appears that the woman leaped from her eighth-floor balcony following a heated dispute with her companion. This unfortunate incident marks a grim first for us on our fifteenth cruise voyage.

It’s evident that their main focus is on rescuing the woman. The boat has now reversed and come to a standstill. They’ve sent out more boats to aid in the search. This could turn into a lengthy evening…

A passenger shared this: ‘Someone fell overboard from the Royal Caribbean Explorer of the Seas during the 80s-themed cruise. I had just enjoyed a fantastic performance by Squeeze when an announcement was made about someone going overboard. The ship halted its journey for a search, and neighboring vessels are providing assistance.’

A US Coast Guard spokesperson said the incident happened roughly 20 miles from Freeport, Bahamas.

A Coast Guard team, including helicopter pilots and additional staff, were dispatched to aid the Royal Bahamas Defense Force during their rescue operation. However, this operation was eventually called off.

Kimberly and Taime had been together for around ‘five or six years.’

One of the travelers informed THR, “An announcement was made over the loudspeaker stating that somebody had fallen off the ship. Consequently, the vessel was going to halt and change course in an attempt to find the individual.

For a few hours, the ship came to a halt. Search boats equipped with spotlights were launched to brighten up the surroundings. A nearby cruise ship also activated its searchlights. My wife conversed with some people on one of the decks who claimed they heard it was a woman and that she was caught on camera; however, this information hasn’t been verified yet.

After some time, the vessel began functioning again, and off we sailed. Earlier today, an announcement was made over the PA system stating that the US Coast Guard had assumed control of the search operation. We arrived at Nassau, Bahamas a little behind schedule. Fortunately, no tours were canceled. Since then, I haven’t received any updates.

I’ve reached out to the spokespersons for Taime Downe, the organizers of the 80s Cruise, and Royal Caribbean for their responses.

In the year 1985, the glam metal group known as Faster Pussycat came together, consisting of members Downe, guitarists Greg Steele and Brent Muscat, and bassist Kelly Nickels.

During the late 1980s and early 1990s, they managed to build a thriving professional path, with their music reaching more than two million people globally.

Four albums have been put out by them: “Faster Pussycat” (1987), “Wake Me When It’s Over” (1989), “Whipped!” (1992) and “The Power and the Glory Hole” (2006).

They broke up in 1993, but reformed in 2001.

Former drummer Brett Bradshaw died on March 26, 2021, at age 50.
