Reports indicate that Geoffrey was perceived as unhelpful, leading to a police officer at the scene firing their weapon, striking him.
McLaughlin’s elder sibling was subsequently transported to a local medical facility, where he eventually succumbed to his condition. Fortunately, no law enforcement personnel sustained injuries in the incident.
Currently, the California Attorney General’s Office is conducting an independent investigation to delve deeper into the recent event.
In a statement to TMZ, Lydia expressed: ‘My family and I are devastated by the loss of my brother.

As reported by the California Attorney General’s Office, the California Department of Justice (DOJ) has initiated an investigation into a case involving police officers using lethal force.
According to a statement, an incident at the OIS led to the loss of life for one person and included officers from the Newport Beach Police Department.
After the investigation, ‘the matter will be handed over to the Independent Review Unit of the Criminal Law Division at the Department of Justice (DOJ) for an impartial examination.’
