Tracy Morgan Shares Surprising Take On Starring In Multiple Sitcoms At Once: ‘I’m Iron Man’

Tracy Morgan, known for his hilarious work on Saturday Night Live and in various movies and TV shows, is about to star in not one, but two new sitcoms. But he’s remarkably calm about it all – in fact, he says he feels like Superman!

I’m really excited about two shows coming up – Crutch on Paramount+ and The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins on NBC, both planned for 2025 and beyond. I recently read an interview with Morgan where they talked about filming both at the same time. Crutch is actually a spin-off of The Neighborhood, and it’s already out now if you have a Paramount+ subscription. Morgan seems to be taking things one step at a time, trying not to get overwhelmed with juggling everything!

I’m focusing on each scene as it comes. It’s important not to get stressed – it’s just a TV show, after all. It’s not a physically demanding job like working in a warehouse or building rockets. I’m just breaking it down, one scene at a time.

Tracy Morgan consistently delivers laughs, no matter what he’s talking about. But beyond the humor, his dedication to simply showing up and doing his job is really admirable. This kind of genuine energy is a big reason why fans are so excited to see him return to TV.

He explained that he’s comfortable balancing multiple roles on set and is prepared for the challenges that come with it. He credited much of this ability to his experience working at Studio 8H during his time on Saturday Night Live (SNL). He also pointed to the life-altering limo-bus accident he was in back in 2014 and his subsequent recovery as a source of his strength and endurance, stating:

I’m completely comfortable with a long series, even over 20 episodes. Having done live television weekly on SNL, this feels easy. A lot of people are terrified of public speaking, and I was doing it for 15 to 20 million viewers every week, so I’m well-prepared. Honestly, I feel invincible – like Iron Man! And after surviving being hit by an 18-wheeler traveling 75 miles per hour with 85,000 pounds of frozen food, pretty much everything else feels manageable… except being a parent!

He’s a true Hollywood veteran! Most people would be rattled by the challenges he describes, but he seems unfazed, especially considering everything he’s overcome since 2014 – his recovery was inspiring, and it’s great to see him back doing comedy. It’s really endearing that the only thing that seems to truly affect him is being a parent. It’s all just wonderful.

With The Neighborhood wrapping up on CBS, Crutch is a great addition to the network’s lineup. The new comedy will star Morgan as a man whose grown children move back in with him. He’s also developing another show for NBC, The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins, a mockumentary about a former football player making a comeback at age 56.

I’m really excited to see Tracy Morgan, who I always think of as the comedic equivalent of Iron Man, taking some big risks and trying out new things with his comedy. I can’t wait to see everything he does, once I have the chance to check it all out!
