Tracy Beaker star engaged to show superfan who branded him her ‘childhood crush’ – six-years after the CBBC series’ final episode
Oh, what a heartwarming tale that brings back so many memories! As a die-hard Tracy Beaker fan, I can’t help but feel a mix of nostalgia and joy upon hearing about Chris Slater, aka Frank Matthews, getting hitched to his super fan.
Chris Slater, who played Tracy Beaker’s friend on CBBC, is preparing to wed a devoted fan of the series, whom he previously declared as his “youthful infatuation.”
From 2010 to 2018, the 29-year-old actor portrayed Frank Matthews in both the original series and its sequel, The Dumping Ground.
Chris’ future wife, Sam Wilson, announced on TikTok that they plan to get married in 2026, along with an entertaining video compilation.
In the clips, we saw adorable pictures of the character from the kids’ program, along with scenes depicting him leading a grown-up lifestyle.
Captioning the post: ‘He isn’t my childhood crush anymore… he’s my fiancé’.
As a lifestyle advisor, allow me to share a story that resonates with me, much like the journey of actor Chris. Like him, I too have faced challenges, such as living with a condition similar to cerebral palsy. The world saw me on a public stage, but behind the scenes, life threw unexpected curveballs my way.
In the previous year, leading actress Dani Harmer, known for her role as Tracy Beaker, unexpectedly had to withdraw from a pantomime production just before it began.
In Nottingham, the 35-year-old actress was playing Fairy Bon Bon in Beauty and the Beast, but unfortunately, she sustained a concussion, necessitating another performer to take her place temporarily.
Sharing the story, she expressed her deep disappointment at the altered plans, using the phrase “completely devastated.” She also promised her followers that she would return “as soon as it’s practically feasible.”
She penned: ‘Absolutely gutted not to be able to do the shows today.
‘I have a concussion, so under doctors orders to rest until I feel less dizzy and nauseous.
Wishing you a shower of love and sprinkles of enchantment, dear Shannon Lockey! I’m confident that your Fairy Bon Bon creation will be truly mesmerizing.
‘You guys are in for a real treat. And I will be back as soon as humanely possible.’
The star then updated fans again and said she was still suffering with dizzy spells.
She wrote: ‘Sorry to not be doing the shows again today.
I’m continuing to feel unwell, with spells of dizziness and nausea persisting. However, I’m keeping my fingers crossed that a day of rest might help me recover soon.
While I’m away, Shannon Lockey will be taking care of my wings for you. You’re in luck because she’s simply fantastic! Be sure to show your appreciation with a hearty round of applause.
‘Hope to be back very soon.’
