Tracksmith is entering the market for high-performance shoes with its latest design: the lightweight, incredibly fast Eliot Racer model. This shoe boasts a carbon fiber plate enclosed within a drop-in TPU and Pebax foam midsole, aiming to provide a race-ready experience by reducing weight and enhancing comfort as much as possible by minimizing glue and layers.
This shoe stands out from others due to its unique drop-in construction, where it combines the conventional insole and midsole into one thick foam piece, eliminating the need for a strobel, which typically acts as a separator between the two components. In essence, this means the midsole and insole are now a single unit.
The forefoot area is designed to accommodate foot expansion during long-distance runs, while the heel section is made slimmer to enhance fit security. Visually, the Eliot Racer has a more streamlined and minimalistic design compared to similar models, as many “super shoes” exhibit a bulky midsole. However, this model still showcases Tracksmith’s iconic racing stripe on the midfoot area, adding a touch of brand identity.
Two different versions of the Eliot Racer shoe are scheduled to be launched: one initially in white and gold, followed by a navy and gold variation later in the year. The initial white-and-gold version is now accessible through Tracksmith’s physical stores in New York City, Boston, and London, with an online release planned for March 18. The retail price has been fixed at $280 USD.
