The Esports World Cup (EWC) has added Trackmania to its tournament lineup, scheduled for the summer of 2026. The EWC Foundation made the announcement recently.
The Esports World Cup Foundation (EWCF) has completed its game list for the 2026 event by adding Trackmania. This also marks the start of a long-term collaboration between the EWCF and Ubisoft Nadeo, and a new tournament will be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, this August.
Trackmania joins the Esports World Cup in 2026
Trackmania was a popular esport featured in the Electronic Sports World Cup tournaments from 2006 to 2015. After a break of over ten years, it’s returning to major competitive play as part of the EWC 2026 lineup. The event will include 24 tournaments next summer.
According to Fabian Scheuermann, EWC Chief Games Officer, Trackmania is unique because it offers a truly fair playing field – everyone uses the same car and races on the same track, with no random elements. Success depends entirely on skill, memorization, and composure. He believes this marks a major step forward for Trackmania esports, solidifying its competitive scene, drawing in professional teams, and inspiring a new wave of players to enjoy pure, competitive racing.
The Environmental We Care Foundation (EWCF) and Ubisoft Nadeo are beginning a long-term partnership. According to Florent Castelnerac, Managing Director of Ubisoft Nadeo, this collaboration celebrates the game’s history and will create new opportunities for players worldwide.
New tournament boasts $500,000 prize pool
The Trackmania competition at the 2026 Esports World Cup will pit 32 players against each other in a quick-paced tournament for a $500,000 prize. Players can qualify by competing directly within the Trackmania game itself. Eight spots will be awarded through the in-game system, and more details about this process will be announced with the game’s update on January 26th.
The competition begins with players competing in groups of four, where they’ll need to win two matches to avoid being eliminated. The best eight players from each group will move on to the Playoffs. From there, the final sixteen players will battle it out in single-elimination matches to decide who will be crowned the Trackmania champion in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
More information about the event schedule, how players can qualify, and where to watch will be shared soon. This year, some games like Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, StarCraft II, and Rennsport won’t be included. However, the Esports World Cup 2026 is excited to add Trackmania, Fortnite, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 to the competition.
