Tracker season 2 has come to an end for 2024 (but it will return in 2025)
As a die-hard fan of Tracker, I must confess that the news about its hiatus has left me feeling as empty as a donut without sprinkles! But fear not, fellow fans, for even the strongest storms pass, and so shall this break. The holidays are here, and there’s nothing like some good old reruns to make them feel extra special.
We’re absolutely excited for the upcoming seasons of Tracker, but I regret to inform you that there won’t be any fresh episodes in 2024. Unfortunately, no new ones have been scheduled as of now!
During the holiday season, some repeats are planned, but Tracker is taking a temporary hiatus. Episode 8 served as its autumn finale, indicating that the show will be on hold for the remainder of the year. This is nothing out of the ordinary; rest assured, there’s no cause for concern regarding the future of the series.
Why is Tracker on a break?
As a gamer, I appreciate the seasonal pauses in my favorite shows. It gives the players (actors) and builders (crew) a well-deserved break during winter, allowing them to reunite with their loved ones too!
During this season, linear ratings tend to decrease across all networks, potentially endangering their shows. Rather than taking risks with these ratings, they choose to suspend the shows temporarily and air reruns or holiday specials instead.
On Sunday, December 8th, there’s going to be a rebroadcast of the show “Tracker”, however, it will start a bit later. Following this, the fall finale of “The Equalizer” season 5 will air immediately after a fresh episode of “60 Minutes”.
When will Tracker season 2 return with new episodes?
Unfortunately, I have some disappointing news to share. The series “Tracker” will not be airing in January as previously scheduled. However, CBS has announced a number of shows will resume in January, with the Sunday lineup taking a brief hiatus instead. This extended break is likely due to football matches and award ceremonies interrupting regular programming. After the Super Bowl, it’s more practical for CBS to return to their normal schedule, which they plan to do in 2025.
In this coming Sunday, February 16th, Tracker’s season 2 episode 9 is scheduled to broadcast. It will follow a fresh episode of 60 Minutes at 8 p.m. ET/PT. The evening’s lineup will also feature Watson and The Equalizer.
At the moment, there’s no specific information available about what will happen when the show comes back. However, the last episode hinted at Gina Picket’s potential location. This mystery surrounding Gina is a long-running case for Colter this season, so we don’t anticipate any major developments until closer to the final episode.
Tracker returns on Sunday, Feb. 16 at 8/7c on CBS. Catch up on the series on Paramount+.
