Toyah Willcox reveals intense Strictly training regime has ‘shrunk her breasts’ and left her husband Robert Fripp feeling ‘very upset’

As a long-time fan of Strictly Come Dancing, I must say this year has been quite a rollercoaster. The show, which has always been about dance and pushing boundaries, seems to have taken that commitment to a whole new level.

During the pandemic, Toyah Willcox danced around in tight tops in her kitchen singing songs.

And at times, their weekly Lockdown Lunch became somewhat risque as she went braless.

Currently, the performer, who is 66 years old, disclosed that her rigorous training for Strictly has resulted in a decrease in her breast size. Her partner, Robert Fripp, aged 78, appears to be quite displeased by this change.

In the current season, Toyah, partnered with Neil Jones at age 42, shared that she’s shed around six pounds due to difficulty consuming enough food to compensate for the energy she’s expending.

She told The Mail on Sunday: ‘I just can’t eat enough to keep the weight on.’

She added: ‘Robert is very upset about my top half disappearing. It has completely disappeared. I’m flat chested but I feel great.’

Toyah Wilcox, who has been married to musician Fripp since 1986, is the oldest contestant participating in this year’s Strictly Come Dancing competition. This week, she showcased a lively jive routine set to the tune of Nutbush City Limits by Ike & Tina Turner.

She says that he has joined in the Strictly fun with her and Neil, who has visited their home.

However, she acknowledges that her packed schedule has made it difficult for her to prepare his meals. As a result, he has taken over the task of cooking.

I’m thoroughly enjoying being a part of this, and I must admit, I’ve grown quite smitten with the series. A significant milestone in our 38-year union is that I’ve taken up cooking for myself.

This year’s Strictly competition has fewer female contestants – six – compared to nine male participants. The imbalance is due to a scandal surrounding the show following accusations by Amanda Abbington that Giovanni Pernice behaved aggressively during training, and Graziano Di Prima’s actions towards his partner Zara McDermott.

As a devoted follower, I must confess that the accusations led me to ponder profoundly about the nature of my journey within this program.

When questioned if the recent accusations of serious misbehavior related to the program caused her to reconsider enrolling, The It’s A Mystery vocalist responded by saying: “It led me to give those matters careful consideration.

‘What’s happened in the last year is because this show is one hundred percent committed to dance.’

It’s essential for you to step outside of your usual comfort zone, which has been quite evident all along.

“This year, I’ve experienced a lot, and I’ve been pondering if I can exceed the boundaries I’ve set for myself.

She determined: “For myself, it’s a matter of act now or miss the chance entirely. It’s that straightforwardness that inspired my decision to be part of the program.

This year’s special edition of Strictly, marking its 20th anniversary, has faced some blemishes as it found itself entangled in a scandal during a time riddled with disputes.

During its initial broadcast, the BBC chose not to discuss the ongoing scandal, as the findings of the misbehavior probe were yet to be revealed.

The events started back in October when, surprisingly, actress Amanda, aged 50, left the show, later alleging that her partner Giovanni, at 33 years old, had been abusive towards her.

Actress who portrays Sherlock Holmes has levied a string of allegations against Giovanni’s instructional approach, characterizing it as “unnecessarily abusive, cruel, and unkind.” However, Giovanni firmly refutes these accusations in entirety.

During the ongoing investigation by the BBC, Giovanni has been temporarily withdrawn from work due to accusations leveled against him by Amanda and two other ex-celebrity companions.

With the report on his misconduct expected soon, it appears that Amanda is disheartened by the BBC leaders due to concerns they are shielding the dancer during the ongoing investigation into bullying.

In response to potential legal actions from Amanda or Giovanni, top executives at the BBC are discussing various strategies on how to present their results in a way that satisfies both parties.

Following Giovanni, the program faced another round of scandals in July when Graziano was dismissed for allegedly mistreating Love Island celebrity Zara, which some reports describe as “kicking” her.

Zara explained she didn’t report the incidents at the time as she was ‘scared’ of backlash.

Rather than senior staff, it was the junior production team members who stepped forward to reveal what they observed during the ongoing investigation involving dance professional Giovanni.

Zara shared with her audience that although being on Strictly was everything she had envisioned, there were specific instances within the training room with Graziano that proved to be extremely upsetting.

Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday at 18:15pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
