Toy Story 5 has “one of the most heartbreaking scenes” of any Toy Story movie

I’m so excited for Toy Story 5 coming out next month! Tom Hanks, who voices Woody, says it has one of the most emotional scenes in the whole series. It’s amazing that he and Tim Allen are both back as Woody and Buzz – I can’t wait to see what adventures they get up to this time.

The latest Toy Story movie will explore what happens when toys meet technology. Eight-year-old Bonnie receives her first tablet, a frog-shaped device called Lilypad (voiced by Greta Lee), and the toys must adjust to this new world.

Tom Hanks recently told The Hollywood Reporter that the new Disney-Pixar movie features a deeply emotional scene, calling it one of the most powerful moments ever created by the studio.

Hanks explained that these films often voice the thoughts already on everyone’s mind. He specifically mentioned a scene where a young girl is upset by hurtful things people are saying about her online.

He said she was really confused, and honestly, it broke my heart. She didn’t get why she was upset, didn’t even realize she’d done anything wrong, but she was clearly hurting. He thought that was super powerful for a movie aimed at kids – like, really hitting on something real and important about feelings and toys.

Joan Cusack will be back as Jessie in Toy Story 5, and Conan O’Brien is joining the cast as a new character named Smarty Pants. For the first time, Bullseye will have a voice – and it will be provided by Alan Cumming.

The UK version of the film also features brief voice appearances from British radio personalities Sian Welby and Jordan North, who play the characters of an Inflatable Flamingo and a Garden Gnome.

Toy Story 5 is released in cinemas on 19 June.
