Abigail Ampofo, acting CEO at Refuge, commented on the issue of domestic abuse: “Though domestic abuse occurs throughout the year, it’s important to remember that during the warm weather when people are vacationing during summer, this crucial concern can sometimes slip from public attention.”

During the summer, the warm, sunny summer months can bring additional pressures for women and their children who are victims of domestic abuse, making it more challenging to ask for help and emphasizing the importance of knowing the resources available to find help. It is crucial for them to be aware of where they can seek assistance when needed.

‘We want to be there for everyone that needs our help but we can only do that with the generosity of our supporters.

Even though numerous families are experiencing financial stress at this moment, we kindly request that, if it’s feasible for you, you might think about making a contribution to our Summer Escape Appeal.

Essex favourite Leah, who is part of the popular Wright family, joined the ITV reality show in 2011 alongside brother Elliott following the success of cousins Mark and Jessica, their parents Carol and Big Mark, and Carol’s mum Nanny Pat who died in 2015.

Four years after joining, I found myself offered an opportunity to delve into presenting work. Seizing this chance, I left my position and embarked on a new venture: establishing my own recruitment business. Since then, I’ve chosen to stay away from the spotlight.

In recent years she has suffered several family tragedies.

Back in March 2021’s March, she experienced the sad loss of her father, Edward Wright, who passed away at the age of sixty-six after a tough eight-week fight against Covid.

Only a few weeks had passed, and Elliott was heartbroken when a fire destroyed his Marbella eatery, Olivia’s La Cala.

Approximately four months after their union, news surfaced that she had parted ways with her husband Chris Taylor, who they’ve been married to for seven years. They are blessed with a 14-year-old daughter named Aurelia, as well as two sons: Sergio, aged 19, and Chris, age 12.
