TOWIE star Jordan Wright’s haunting last days – and a truly troubling question: FRED KELLY reveals his Thailand ‘new life’, disturbing footage – and what sources say happened in days before death in ditch

It was obvious the man was in trouble. CCTV footage from the night of March 12th shows Jordan Wright, known from the show The Only Way is Essex, running quickly down a dark street in Phuket, Thailand, and repeatedly looking behind him as if he were being pursued.

Just after 11:25 PM, Wright returned to his hotel, the Coco Phuket Bangtao Beach. He walked around the hotel grounds, then suddenly ran out and across the fields nearby. This was the last anyone ever saw of him.

I’ve been following this case closely, and it’s still so unsettling. We don’t know what exactly happened that night, but it seems like the 33-year-old, Wright, was trying to get away from something – or someone. Sadly, two days later, a farm worker found his body in a drainage ditch close to Bang Tao Beach. It’s just heartbreaking, and we’re all hoping for answers.

Wright was found lying face down in dirty, still water. His iPhone 17 was thrown onto the nearby shore, and his hotel keycard was still in his empty pockets.

I’ve been pouring over every scrap of information about where they found him, and it’s just… incredible. Apparently, to get to where he ended up, he had to practically navigate an obstacle course! The satellite images show he would have slid down this ten-foot ditch, then actually waded through a little stream, and then… get this… stumbled right across a construction site! It’s like the universe was trying to keep him from resting peacefully, or maybe… maybe it was all part of his journey. I just can’t stop thinking about it.

Without any security cameras or people nearby, it’s impossible to know for sure what happened to the reality TV star at the drainage site. Any explanation right now is just guesswork.

Thai authorities say they haven’t found any signs of a physical attack, but they aren’t dismissing the possibility that something suspicious happened. This isn’t the first time the reality show The Only Way is Essex (often called Towie) has been in the headlines for negative reasons.

The reality show Towie is known for its playful attitude, bright smiles, bold hairstyles, and manufactured conflicts, but it’s also been linked to serious events. In December 2019, Arthur Collins, who was 25 at the time and had previously dated Towie’s Ferne McCann, received a 20-year prison sentence. He was convicted of throwing a corrosive substance at people at the Mangle E8 nightclub in Dalston on April 17th of that year.

I was really shocked to hear about Mike Hassini. He was one of the original cast members, appearing on the show for three years before Tom Wright joined us. It turned out he was caught with nearly £150,000 worth of cocaine and was sentenced to seven years in prison. It’s just awful, and it’s hard to believe it happened.

He was released in 2023 after serving just two years.

Lauren Goodger, also known from the show Towie, recently faced a difficult time when her partner, Joey Morrison, was sentenced to 16 years in prison for serious crimes including firearm possession, kidnapping, blackmail, and assault. Tragically, shortly after, Morrison’s brother, Stephen, was killed in a stabbing at a car park.

Jordan Wright first became well-known in 2017 after appearing on the reality TV show Ex on The Beach. A year later, he joined the cast of Towie, appearing in 17 episodes and gaining attention for an on-screen argument with fellow cast member Myles Barnett.

His time with the fire service ended suddenly when accusations surfaced that he was falsely claiming sick leave to pursue his television career.

Wright went back to his regular job, but he also kept enjoying the benefits of his newfound fame by DJing at clubs across the country.

He arrived in Thailand in December and had been traveling on a visa for remote workers, allowing him to work freely while there.

Phuket is Thailand’s biggest island in the Andaman Sea, and it’s a popular winter getaway for tourists, especially those from the UK, looking for sunshine.

Recent social media photos reveal Wright enjoying a ‘new life’ while riding a white Kawasaki motorcycle in a beautiful tourist destination.

It is unclear why he felt the need to escape his old life.

More recent posts revealed the actor scuba diving. On March 6th, Wright posted a picture of himself relaxing in an infinity pool with a glass of champagne, looking happy and relaxed. Everything appeared to be going well.

Exactly when Wright arrived at the Coco Phuket Bangtao Beach Hotel isn’t known, but staff say he was scheduled to leave on March 13th – the day after security cameras captured him running through the streets.

This four-star hotel offers rooms from just £23 per night and promotes itself as ideal for couples. It features a large outdoor pool and spa, and is very close to beautiful sandy beaches. Mr. Wright stayed there alone, without a partner. A hotel employee reported that he went out in the evenings like other guests, and everything seemed normal until he couldn’t be found at checkout.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Sutthirak Chuthong, security camera footage revealed the suspect seemed agitated and paced back and forth in front of the hotel before departing.

A search of the star’s hotel room found no evidence of a break-in or any other ‘irregularities’.

He explained that investigators tracked Wright’s final movements to the place where his body was found. They’re currently awaiting autopsy results from Vachira Phuket Hospital to see if drugs played a role in his death.

We don’t yet know the exact cause of death and are waiting for the autopsy results. If family or friends have any questions or worries, they can reach out to the police.

British citizens have sometimes faced difficulties in Thailand. Last October, Thai police arrested George Wilson, a 23-year-old from Buckinghamshire, after finding him with more than 9 kilograms of crystal meth in his Bangkok hotel room. He could face the death penalty if convicted.

I was so shocked and saddened to hear about the death of a 57-year-old man from Liverpool earlier this year. He was killed in Phuket, Thailand, after a fight with a 29-year-old Swedish man – it sounds like it started as a disagreement over something that happened on the road. It’s just awful, and over the last day, I’ve seen so many heartfelt tributes to him, a man named Wright. It’s really touching to see how many people cared for him.

Chloe Brockett, known from the show Towie, shared a message on Instagram saying ‘rest in peace Jordan’. Liam Blackwell, also a Towie star, wrote ‘Missing you already brother’. Brandon Myers, who appeared on Ex on the Beach, expressed similar sadness, saying ‘Lost for words bro. Amazing memories with you mate’.

Alex Shafiq, who used to manage Wright, described Jordan as a cheerful and lively person who always brought positivity to those around him.

Shafiq added that he prided himself on being able to read people, and he immediately knew Jordan was a good person when they first met. He remembered Jordan as a handsome young man with a wonderful smile.

‘He tried TV for a bit but DJing was his real passion, that’s what he wanted to focus on.’

However, nothing anyone says can erase the disturbing image of Wright running down that peaceful street late at night, as captured on security cameras.

This suggests someone, possibly whoever was pursuing him, has detailed knowledge of the events leading up to the 33-year-old’s death.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve been following this case closely, and while we’re still waiting for the official cause of death, those of us involved know the bigger question isn’t how this young man passed away, but why. It’s not about the mechanics of his death, but the circumstances surrounding it that truly need exploring.
