As a long-time fan of Tower of Fantasy, I must admit that the recent news about the publishing rights change and the discontinuation of voice-overs for the main characters has left me somewhat bewildered. Having spent countless hours exploring the vibrant world of Aida, bonding with my virtual companions, and engaging in dynamic combat, this announcement feels like a part of the game I’ve grown to love is being taken away.

On February 23, 2025, the publishing rights for the widely acclaimed open-world MMORPG, Tower of Fantasy, will be handed over to Perfect World Games, a subsidiary of Hotta Studio. Additionally, the voiceover contracts for both the main male and female characters in Tower of Fantasy have concluded for the Japanese and English versions as of now.

For those not in the know, Tower of Fantasy is a widely enjoyed MMORPG set in the future on the distant planet Aida. Created by Hotta Studio, a subsidiary of Perfect World Games, this game merges anime-style post-apocalyptic sci-fi action with fluid combat and customizable character growth. The worldwide release of the game took place on August 11, 2022.

Level Infinite has made a significant announcement regarding the Tower of Fantasy: Starting from February 23, 2025, Perfect World Games will take over the game’s distribution, management, and operation, following the transfer of the publishing rights.

As a dedicated follower, I wanted to share some exciting yet bittersweet news: Our beloved team has announced via their platform (previously known as Twitter) that beginning with version 4.5 of the game, the English and Japanese voice-overs for our cherished male and female protagonists will no longer be part of the experience.

The devs have revealed the transition timeline along with details on the voice-over contract

This decision arises from some changes in publishing, as they explained, “Because of necessary adjustments and thorough deliberation.” Regrettably, with future updates, the main character’s voice-overs may not be available anymore. However, they want you to know that all the main character’s voice-overs from versions prior to 4.5 will still be saved.
