Looking for something spooky to watch before Halloween? Paramount+ has you covered with a great selection of scary thrillers, funny dark comedies, and exclusive shows.
Paramount+ is offering a thrilling October 2025 with popular horror favorites and exciting new shows perfect for binge-watching.
Looking for something to watch this Halloween? Ebaster recommends these five series on Paramount+ to stream from October 27th to 31st, 2025 – perfect for a scary movie marathon or a relaxing night in.
Mayor of Kingstown
While not a typical Halloween pick, the fourth season of Taylor Sheridan’s Mayor of Kingstown just released, and it’s arguably the strongest yet. Set in a city and prison system riddled with corruption, the show, starring Jeremy Renner, is full of intense moments, even without the usual spooky costumes.
The latest season of Mayor of Kingstown is receiving rave reviews, with many calling it the best yet. Ebaster gave season 4 a 9 out of 10, praising Jeremy Renner’s performance and calling the storylines the darkest and most intense in the series’ history. If you’re a fan of crime thrillers and looking for something to watch on Paramount+, this season is a definite must-see.
Criminal Minds
If you’re looking for a spooky show to watch during Halloween, you can’t go wrong with Criminal Minds. It’s been on TV for twenty years and is still releasing new episodes – something very few shows can say, like Grey’s Anatomy and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
You can find every episode of Criminal Minds – all 363 across 19 seasons – exclusively on Paramount+. The popular CBS series became a Paramount+ original in 2022, starting with season 16. This change allowed for more connected storylines, richer character arcs, and broader storytelling, all while keeping the original cast and the show’s familiar feel. The newer seasons of this Emmy-nominated series still deliver the classic Criminal Minds experience fans love.
Murder 360
Halloween might bring spooky stories, but sometimes real life is even scarier. Murder 360, a new true crime docuseries on Paramount+, is a particularly compelling and recent addition to the streaming platform, exploring ten different murder cases over ten episodes.
Released in late August, Murder 360 is a new true crime series on Paramount+ that you might not be aware of yet. While it doesn’t quite reach the production quality of popular documentaries on HBO or Netflix, it’s still an interesting option for true crime fans looking for something fresh.
The Stand
Released on Paramount+ in 2020, The Stand is a sci-fi horror series with supernatural elements, based on Stephen King’s popular novel. Like many TV adaptations of King’s books, it received significant criticism for not fully capturing the spirit or details of the original story.
With a strong cast including James Marsden, Alexander Skarsgård, Whoopi Goldberg, and others, The Stand is a great horror series for a binge-watch. Its nine episodes are each between 49 and 65 minutes long, making it perfect to watch before Halloween arrives this Friday.
Critics had mixed reactions to The Stand, but The Daily Beast praised it as a compelling adaptation of Stephen King’s story about the dangers of selfishness and strong leaders, and the importance of community during difficult times. The show’s strong cast makes the first episode worth watching.
Why Women Kill
If you’re looking for a captivating horror series to watch on Paramount+, check out Why Women Kill. This anthology series, which aired for two seasons between 2019 and 2021, follows the lives of women from different eras—the 1960s, 1980s, and present day—all living in the same house. Despite living in different times, each woman faces similar challenges in her marriage, including cheating and being betrayed.
The show boasts fantastic performances from a talented cast including Lucy Liu, Alexandra Daddario, Lana Parrilla, Ginnifer Goodwin, and Nick Frost. Viewers clearly love it, giving it an 88% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and an 8.3 on IMDb. Many viewers were instantly captivated, with one saying it was “hooked immediately” and another praising its “fun, superbly executed concept.” While it’s fundamentally a dark comedy, the series also delivers thrilling crime and mystery. If you enjoyed HBO’s Love & Death, this could be the perfect new show to stream on Paramount+ this week.
