Star Trek: Starfleet Academy
The new series Star Trek: Starfleet Academy is now streaming on Paramount+, with the first two episodes available starting January 15th. New episodes will be released every week through mid-March, for a total of ten episodes.
The new series Star Trek: Starfleet Academy continues the story from Star Trek: Discovery and introduces fresh faces including Stephen Colbert, Holly Hunter, and Tig Notaro. Critics seem to like it – it currently has an 85% ‘Certified Fresh’ rating on Rotten Tomatoes – but audiences haven’t been as impressed, giving it a score of only 35%.
Landman
As a big fan of Taylor Sheridan’s work, I’m a little bummed to see how season 2 of Landman is wrapping up. The finale airs January 18th, and honestly, it feels like the season has been all over the place. Two out of the last three episodes have gotten some of the lowest ratings ever on IMDb, which is a real sign that the show might be losing some of its magic. I’m hoping the finale can still pull things together, but it’s definitely been a bumpy ride.
Despite recent discussion, Landman is still the most popular show on Paramount+ in the United States and is being renewed for a third season. Billy Bob Thornton continues to star as Tommy Norris, an oil landman navigating a challenging career and a complicated family. While intended as a heartwarming family drama, Landman remains a favorite for viewers looking to binge-watch before the season 2 finale.
Girl Taken
