September 2025 proved to be an unexpectedly active month for mobile gaming worldwide. The leaderboards experienced significant shifts, with several new games entering the rankings. Let’s take a closer look at what happened.

Top Mobile Games by Downloads for September 2025

Roblox remained the most popular app, reaching 24.6 million downloads and continuing to attract both young players and creative users. Block Blast came in second with 17.9 million installs, solidifying its place as a highly addictive puzzle game.

Subway Surfers remained popular with 17 million downloads, which is remarkable considering it came out over ten years ago. The game Prison Master: Escape Ready quickly rose to fourth place, gaining 14.7 million downloads and proving to be a surprising hit.

I was really surprised to see *Pizza Ready!* land in the top five! It got a massive 12.6 million downloads – I guess people just love that simple restaurant game. *Ludo King* is still super popular, hanging in there at number six, and it was great to see *Clash Royale* make a comeback at seventh with 11.3 million installs. It looks like it’s still going strong, which is awesome!

Several other games also performed well: Vita Mahjong held steady at eighth place, and Free Fire remained ninth. Candy Crush Saga continued to be a popular choice, earning the tenth spot with 9.2 million downloads.

Rounding out the top fifteen were several newer games: 8 Ball Pool, Free Fire Max, FPS Strike Ops, Tile Club – Match Puzzle Game, and My Talking Tom 2 from Outfit7. The latter is a fantastic updated version of the popular Talking Tom Cat game.

Top Mobile Games by Revenue for September 2025

Roblox topped the charts in revenue this month with $122.2 million. Last War: Survival came in a close second, earning $117.7 million and continuing its successful run as a strategy and survival game.

For the first time since March, Honor of Kings wasn’t the top-grossing mobile game. It fell to fifth place after previously ranking third last month with $115.7 million in revenue. Despite this, it remains Tencent Games’ most successful game.

The strategy game *Whiteout Survival* moved up to fourth place with $109 million in revenue, and *Royal Match* rounded out the top five at $106.2 million, demonstrating Dream Games’ consistent success with puzzle games.

MONOPOLY GO! brought in $88.9 million, landing it at number six. Candy Crush Saga remained a leader in casual games, earning $80.6 million. PUBG Mobile generated $76.6 million, and Clash Royale continued to perform well with revenues of $68.6 million.
