Top 10 Yoda moments in Star Wars movies and TV shows

As a gamer with over two decades of Star Wars fandom under my belt, I must say that Yoda is undoubtedly one of the most iconic characters in the galaxy far, far away. His wisdom, humor, and unwavering dedication to the Jedi Order have made him a beloved figure for generations of fans.

He told Luke Skywalker he meant no harm in his first moments on screen and in that moment an icon was born.

Since 1980, when Yoda, a character from Star Wars, made his debut in “The Empire Strikes Back,” he has left an indelible mark on the Star Wars universe and franchise. Throughout the years, he’s given us numerous unforgettable moments on screen. Here are ten of his best:

10. In the movie “Attack of the Clones”, Yoda is seen with the younglings – a heartwarming, yet potent moment showcasing the wise Jedi Master imparting knowledge to the future generation of Jedi and aiding Obi-Wan Kenobi.

9. Yoda journeys to Dagobah for the first time (in “Destiny”, season 6-episode of “The Clone Wars”) – Following the guidance of the ghost of Qui Gon Jinn, he seeks a greater understanding of the Force.

8. In ‘The Last Jedi’, the venerable mentor faces off with his erstwhile apprentice, prompting him to grapple with his history and inspiring him to regain his former glory as a powerful Jedi.

7. In “The Empire Strikes Back,” Yoda unveils his identity as the wise Jedi Master, a revelation that significantly shapes his character.

6. In the final episode of “The Acolyte”, Yoda makes an appearance – this underscores his link to the narrative and suggests that the Jedi were already cognizant of the emerging danger.

5. Vision of Yoda experienced by Ahsoka (in the second season, episode “Shroud of Darkness” of Star Wars: Rebels) – As the Jedi Temple crumbles, Ahsoka encounters a vision of her old mentor, providing her with a sense of direction on her authentic journey.

4. In the film “The Empire Strikes Back,” Yoda made his debut, winning over the audience with his humorous and casual introduction. And who wouldn’t adore seeing him spar with R2-D2?

3. In “Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back”, Yoda raises Luke’s X-Wing – a moment that resonates deeply with Star Wars fans due to its emotional music, compelling dialogue, and the power of faith.

2. In “Return of the Jedi,” Yoda’s demise marked the conclusion of his journey, yet it ignited a new path for me (Luke Skywalker), Rey, and future Jedi apprentices, paving the way for our growth as guardians of peace and justice in the galaxy.

In the first season of “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” episode “Ambush”, Yoda converses with the clones, and through John Williams’s music, Yoda’s straightforward speech, and his focus on each clone’s individuality, he creates a compelling scene that motivates those who don’t rely solely on the Force.
