Top 10 Romance Choices in Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma
As a passionate movie-goer diving into the captivating world of Rune Factory games, like the latest addition, Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma, I find myself immersed in intricate relationships with the game’s NPC characters. By gifting them thoughtfully, participating in a variety of activities together, exchanging daily conversations, and inviting them to join my team in combat, I can nurture these bonds – be it for friendship or something more romantic.
As our connection deepens, these characters may offer unique storylines and missions tailored to their rich backstories. And once a strong bond has been forged, the protagonist even has the chance to walk down the aisle with one of the game’s eligible NPC suitors!
During my time analyzing the game, Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma, I grew quite familiar with its characters. Of course, everyone has their unique opinions on who the ideal bachelors are, and this compilation reflects a blend of my personal sentiments and popular online votes. Intriguingly, the game permits choosing either a male or female protagonist, and both options can pursue any romantic interest within the game, regardless of gender. There are eight male and eight female characters to court, alongside numerous NPCs who can be friends and accomplices.
8. Kurama Is A Bit Of A Snob, But Could Have A Warm Heart
The Astute God Of Autumn And Wind
Indeed, within the captivating realm of “Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma,” one can even pursue romantic relationships with deities. Among them is the God of Autumn and Wind, Kurama, who resides in the Autumn village. To put it mildly, he exhibits an air of haughtiness and self-importance that seems to overshadow his gratitude for being rescued. Kurama often gives off a snobbish, self-absorbed vibe, leaving one with the impression that he looks down upon others. However, it’s worth noting that other divine beings in the game are more approachable and friendly, making Kurama’s aloof behavior all the more perplexing.
As the main character becomes more acquainted with Kurama, they’ll gradually observe a change in his demeanor – from gruff and aloof to warmer and perhaps even humble. Engaging with him could prove quite rewarding, as beneath his tough exterior lies an intriguing character who is calm, strategic, loves games, and has an impressive mane of hair. Witnessing this god’s rare moments of joy and humility might just make him a desirable choice for romantic interests.
7. Fubuki Has A Gentle And Kind Personality
The Half-Beast God Of Winter And Water
In the game Guardians of Azuma, you’ll find 16 romantic characters, each with unique personas. One such character is Fubuki, the tender and compassionate God of Winter and Water. His caring demeanor and appearance often lead others to treat him like a child or younger sibling, but don’t be fooled by his delicate exterior. This deity possesses an unexpected strength that surpasses typical expectations. He is steadfast, loyal, and yearns to safeguard others, making him a potential soulmate for the protagonist who aims to save the world.
In a different wording: The deity of the Winter hamlet, Fubuki, is a kind-hearted, half-wolf character who cherishes all things and people around him. Communicating with him is a delightful experience, enhanced by engaging dialogues, beautiful visual cutscenes, and expressive voice acting that reveal his profound feelings. His main weakness lies in his apprehension, yet this anxiety stems from his unwavering commitment to avoiding causing distress to anyone.
6. Ikaruga Is As Friendly As He Is Focused
The Mystic Leader Of The Jingasa Corps
As a movie critic, I’d rephrase it like this: “Ikaruga might come off as quiet, reserved, and kind-hearted, but beneath that demeanor lies an unyielding determination to achieve his aspirations. He’s generally approachable and friendly, but when his plans or work are disrupted, he can become remarkably intense. Yet, if our protagonist manages to channel Ikaruga’s passion towards love, it could lead to a profound and heartfelt romance.
Ikaruga serves as the Mystic Commander of the Jingasa Corps, taking his role with great responsibility. His striking greenish-yellow eyes and unwavering resolve make him an alluring figure in Azuma’s singlehood, once he ceases his hostilities towards the party. He proves to be a formidable ally on the battlefield, especially given his relentless pursuit of any goals he deems important.
5. Mauro Is Cheerful And Curious About The World
The Adventurer Who Sails The Skies
Mauro’s infectious enthusiasm and boundless curiosity make him appear youthful at times, although he may not be the youngest among them. His spirit radiates cheerfulness as he navigates through life, seemingly guided by fate or even the gods themselves. With a skyship in his command, he soars through the skies, always on the hunt for new experiences and discoveries.
As a cinema enthusiast, I find myself captivated by the enchanting realm of Azuma, a stark contrast to my familiar urban landscapes teeming with bricks and concrete. I’m a sentimental soul, eager to immerse myself in every aspect of this new world. In the heat of battle, I discovered his strength with the bow, though he may not stand out as the most remarkable member of our team. However, his habit of exclaiming “Splendiferous” frequently within our group, while initially endearing, eventually grew a bit tiresome for me over time.
4. Subaru Is The Option For Male Protagonist, Or Potential Love
The Wandering Hero, And Counterpart To Kaguya
In a fresh game of Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma, players can select between a male or female character to play. The male character introduced is Subaru. If you opt for the female protagonist, Subaru features in the narrative as Kaguya’s childhood friend. Conversely, if you pick the male protagonist, you will control Subaru, and Kaguya appears in the story instead.
Subaru possesses a relaxed demeanor and is prone to smiling, even amidst the devastating fallout of a world in turmoil. Maybe it’s due to his resemblance to Kaguya as a potential protagonist, but he seems like a reliable choice for those seeking a steady and balanced companion. Given their past closeness, they share a profound bond, making Subaru an ideal character for a heartwarming romantic tale.
3. Cuilang Is Withdrawn But Caring
The Soft-Spoken Puppet Master (Only Available With The DLC)
In the Autumn village, there lives a character named Cuilang who is often quiet and reserved. Despite his shy demeanor, he is widely recognized for his kindness and helpfulness. His outward appearance may seem aloof or distant, but he rarely engages in conversation with others. However, when he does speak to the main character, it becomes apparent that beneath his many layers of clothing lies a heart full of willingness to assist everyone.
Known as the puppeteer, Cuilang possesses remarkable skills with machinery and tinkering. He frequently uses these abilities to help those in the nearby community.
I’m sorry to say that the romantic interactions with Cuilang are exclusive to those who own the “Seasons of Love” DLC expansion. If you don’t have this add-on, he will just be another villager you can become friends with, but there won’t be any special romance scenarios for him.
2. Kai Is The Baddest Of The Bad Boys
The Oni God Of The Underworld
As a movie buff, I can’t help but notice that every romantic game seems to have its share of roguish characters. In the world of Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma, the standout bad boy is none other than Kai, the God of the Underworld himself. He’s got a reputation for being formidable and intimidating, which keeps many at arm’s length. Known for his self-centeredness and love for stirring up trouble, he doesn’t even bother to settle his tab at the local teahouse in Autumn village.
Kai is a formidable being from Japanese legends, often seen as menacing. However, beneath his tough exterior, he shows respect and kindness towards those he cares about. Winning over Kai may require some time and persistence, as he initially keeps the protagonist at arm’s length. But with patience and effort, players can attempt to penetrate his defenses and discover if they can win his affection and uncover the tender side of his heart.
1. Murasame Holds A Dark Secret And Needs Some Love To Heal
The Swordsman Seeking Greatness
In my journey through the lands of Azuma with the Guardians, I found myself drawn to Murasame for romance. He’s a samurai on a quest to become the world’s greatest swordsman, constantly training and striving for perfection. Yet, there’s a hidden depth to his unyielding determination that the game reveals as you grow intimate with him. His blindfold might conceal a secret far more ominous than a lost eye.
He’s extremely serious and disciplined, preferring activities that hold value to him, but behind this serious exterior lies a heart full of kindness and an eagerness to aid others. Murasame is a formidable swordsman in combat and excels at raising relationship levels within the party. Despite his intense focus, I consider him the top bachelor in “Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma”.
