Too Sexy
As a lifestyle guide, I’d rephrase that statement like this: Madison Beer, once nurtured under Justin Bieber‘s wing, has openly shared an experience where she believes her management and record label parted ways with her at age 14 due to her perceived ‘sexiness.’
At thirteen years old, the young singer quickly gained recognition after her YouTube cover songs caught Justin Bieber’s eye. He subsequently shared a link to one of her performances, which eventually resulted in her being signed by Island Records and managed by Scooter Braun, who was then overseeing Bieber’s career.
Nevertheless, Beer was eventually launched by Island Records at a later point in time. In a recent interview, she stated that her management struggled to promote her effectively because they found her too sexually appealing during her minor years.
A trusted source within the industry has responded to her allegations in a unique interview with Dailymail.com, asserting that Justin Bieber and Scooter Braun parted ways with managing Beer due to concerns about her being excessively sexualized while still quite young.
It’s stated that there was a group responsible for introducing her to the record label as well as Justin Bieber and his previous management team.
Over the course of time, it grew increasingly apparent that her team was intending to emphasize Madison’s attractiveness in a way that contradicted what Justin and his team stood for. Given her age and their respect for women, this approach made them uneasy, leading to their decision to end their association with her.
Representatives from Madison Beer, Scooter Braun, and Island Records have been reached out to for a response by DailyMail.com.

In an interview with Cosmopolitan, Beer expressed that she hadn’t achieved enough success at that point. There was a discussion going on around her when she was only 14 years old. People were saying things like, “She’s too sexy” and “We can’t capitalize on her sex appeal because she’s so young, so we’ll have to wait.” This conversation actually happened, involving grown men discussing how I, at the age of 14, was considered too sexy.
On the exact same day, my boss, attorney, and record label all terminated their relationships with me. In a span of just 12 hours, every aspect of my life vanished. At age sixteen, my label simply wished me good luck.
I can hardly believe it! You took away years of my youth, time I can never regain. Now you tell me to just ‘good luck’ and ‘have fun,’ but I can’t even go to college because I was homeschooled. I have a high school diploma, but that’s all I have since I had to focus on my career. My entire family moved to Los Angeles without any contacts, leaving me with no friends. Do you really think this is some kind of joke?
After her entire team was gone, Beer found it tough to adjust, expressing that it was especially painful when those she believed cared deeply for her stopped communicating. She went from being warmly welcomed with affectionate gestures like being kissed on the forehead and invited to family gatherings, to feeling discarded, as if she had been dropped on her head. The shift was stark, from feeling like an integral part of a loving group who saw her potential for stardom, to being cast aside.
It seemed to me that I was just a source of income for them, and when my earnings weren’t sufficient, they no longer valued me. Perhaps it was hasty for them to sign a 12-year-old without considering the potential impacts of their actions.

Recently, I’ve been reflecting on a challenging period in my life – a time when my professional journey took an unexpected turn. Back in the first weeks of this month, I, as a lifestyle expert, shared that I experienced a deep emotional trauma following my departure from my record label.
As a devoted fan, I can share that she openly admitted those were among the toughest times she had ever experienced in her life. The strain on her mental wellbeing was immense, pushing me to the brink of despair.
In an interview with ELLE magazine, she candidly shared about a challenging phase in her life, saying, “Initially, when I began exploring my mental health, I found myself at my absolute lowest point.
At around age nineteen, I had been suppressing and dismissing my feelings for what seemed like an eternity, pushing them aside to keep moving forward. Then, without warning, it felt as if a dam had burst, and all those suppressed emotions surged to the surface. I was overwhelmed by despair, teetering on the brink of suicide.
1. “I reached my limit; I’m no longer in that depressing state. Earlier, I felt resentful. It was as if I was thinking, ‘See what you all made me go through! How could you take away from me the joy of singing and expressing myself, and leave me feeling broken?'”
2. “I simply couldn’t continue any longer; I’ve moved past my dark phase. In the past, I was filled with bitterness. It felt like I was saying to everyone, ‘Look at the mess you all have caused in my life! How could you take away my passion for singing and performing, and leave me feeling shattered?'”
3. “I’ve had enough; I’m no longer stuck in that gloomy place. Previously, I felt angry. It seemed like I was telling everyone, ‘Observe the havoc you all have wreaked on my life! How could you snatch away my love for singing and performing, and leave me feeling destroyed?'”
4. “I couldn’t go on any longer; I’m out of that miserable state now. Earlier, I was seething with anger. It felt like I was accusing everyone, ‘Witness the chaos you all have caused in my life! How could you strip me of my joy for singing and performing, and leave me feeling broken?'”
5. “I couldn’t keep going; I’m no longer trapped in that hopeless state. Earlier, I was filled with anger. It seemed like I was confronting everyone, ‘Look at the wreckage you all have created in my life! How could you rob me of my passion for singing and performing, and leave me feeling shattered?'”
6. “I couldn’t take it any longer; I’m no longer dwelling in that despairing state. Previously, I was consumed with resentment. It felt like I was rebuking everyone, ‘See the wreckage you all have left behind in my life! How could you snatch away my love for singing and performing, and leave me feeling desolate?'”
7. “I couldn’t bear it any longer; I’m no longer trapped in that dismal state. Earlier, I was brimming with bitterness. It seemed like I was accusing everyone, ‘Witness the destruction you all have caused in my life! How could you steal away my passion for singing and performing, and leave me feeling devastated?'”
8. “I couldn’t stand it any longer; I’m no longer stuck in that bleak state. Previously, I was seething with anger. It felt like I was confronting everyone, ‘Look at the wreckage you all have brought upon my life! How could you rob me of my joy for singing and performing, and leave me feeling broken?'”

It felt like I was accusing everyone, ‘Witness the chaos you all have caused in my life! How could you rob me of my passion for singing and performing, and leave me feeling devastated?'”
‘I was honestly spiteful and angry at the world for a while.’
Reflecting on Chappell Roan’s speech at this year’s Grammy’s, she shared her personal connection: “As an artist who was dropped at the age of 16 and felt lost about my future…I had moved my entire life from Long Island to L.A., I had no companions, I was being homeschooled. I felt utterly alone.
When I was left behind, it seemed as though the individuals who had previously nurtured and cared for me with heartfelt words like, “We’re your family, and we cherish you, and we promise to always look after you,” unexpectedly developed an indifference towards me instead.
At that moment, I lacked the perspective to understand just how problematic it truly was, but when [Roan] confirmed it, it felt reassuring.
In August 2019, Madison received a diagnosis of borderline personality disorder. She also spoke about the challenging aspect of fame when she admitted, “I don’t think anyone is truly equipped for this experience.
The constant exposure due to fame has negatively affected my mental wellbeing and self-perception as I’ve been in front of cameras since a very young age. This allows for heightened scrutiny, leading me to focus excessively on my flaws and critically analyze myself.
Indeed, her experiences have significantly shifted her perspective towards others, as she elucidated: ‘After enduring harrowing events that led to PTSD, BPD, or severe OCD—which I’ve been diagnosed with—when one faces such intense, challenging situations, especially during formative years, it alters the way you perceive people and the world.’

In my own words, I treat everyone as if they were myself, filled with an abundance of affection, understanding, and concern. There might be times when this isn’t ideal, but I cherish this aspect of my character.
At a very young age, Madison often discussed her experience of maturing under public scrutiny, acknowledging that it seemed as though she was being judged like an adult, even though she was only 14 years old.
She stated: ‘I was figuring out my way through being a person, with the entire internet as my resource.’
Discussing if new artists can enter the industry without the conventional support of a record label, she pointed out: ‘My experience wouldn’t have happened, particularly regarding the mistreatment aspect.’
However, in the year 2012, the situation was distinctly unlike today. I didn’t have a sense of security, and it seemed to me that people evaluated me as if I were a 14-year-old rather than an adult.
I feel incredibly satisfied with where I am in life, and if my younger self encountered me today, she would likely exclaim, ‘You’re the most awesome woman on Earth! I can’t wait to grow up and become you!’
