In a world filled with reproductions and fresh interpretations, it’s uncommon for an artist to venture beyond their safe zone and delve into uncharted territory. Yet, for Jeremy Jordan, that’s simply part of his regular routine… more accurately, his daily performance on the stage.
Jordan has been a consistent presence on popular television series such as “Hazbin Hotel,” “Supergirl,” and “Smash”. He started his career on Broadway in 2009. This year, he received another Tony nomination for his performance as the main character in Floyd Collin, and was also nominated for a Grammy alongside the cast of “Newsies” for their album recording.
Transitioning between Broadway and TV isn’t rare, but it’s not common for actors to add starting a rock band to their resume as well.
Broadway star Jeremy Jordan’s band is one you need to hear
For nearly two decades, Jeremy Jordan has delved into composing and producing his personal music. However, he didn’t dedicate himself to it seriously until it served as his primary means of expression throughout the pandemic.
2020 marked the establishment of Age of Madness, followed by the debut of their first single in January 2022. Since then, they’ve been consistently producing music, and unfortunately, many people haven’t had a chance to listen yet – it’s really a pity!
Currently, Jordan is busy with their tour alongside Age of Madness, and we’re smack dab in the thick of it. Their music has a unique blend of contemporary and nostalgic vibes, and while similar groups exist, none quite replicate their distinctive style.
Jordan is currently on tour with Age of Madness, and we’re squarely in the midst of it all. They possess an original sound that blends modern and nostalgic elements, though no other band sounds quite like them due to their unique style.
The music they produce combines soft, captivating vocals with sharp violins and powerful guitar solos, transporting you to an entirely different realm. There’s a hint (whether conscious or unconscious) of influence from bands like My Chemical Romance during their Black Parade era and Panic! At The Disco, with their blend of gritty bluesy tones and polished melodic vocals creating a unique rock style.
Currently, Age of Madness is soaring high with a fresh theme centered on Mount Olympus and the legendary Greek gods and goddesses, known as the Greek Pantheon.
On his website, Jeremy Jordan, the lead singer and Tony-nominated Broadway star, expresses that their journey is about narrating stories which serve as a reflection of our past and our current position in the world.
The band, formed over a lifetime, was established by Jordan and his longtime friend, the highly acclaimed guitarist Mikael. Joining them is Sarah Charness on the electric (and vibrant pink) violin, completing the three-piece group.
Charness’ haunting violin contributes to an atmosphere crafted by Jordan’s velvety vocals, and Mikael’s thrilling guitar solos, with their robust, satisfying tones, continually entice listeners to return for another listen.
In their Mt. Olympus series, Age of Madness reworked The White Stripes’ iconic song “Seven Nation Army,” giving credit to Ares, the deity of war. Their newest single titled “Dionysus | Animal” was released on June 13 and has rapidly gained popularity among audiences at live performances.
During their ongoing “Mount Olympus” tour, they’re tantalizing fans with songs inspired by goddesses from mythology. One such song, titled “Hera,” was performed at a show in Richmond, Virginia, on July 26, 2025. Jordan himself expressed his eagerness to soon release a studio version of it.
Based on their Instagram updates, they plan to release a fresh track every month until the entire Mt. Olympus album is complete. Since we’ve already passed the midpoint of August, I’m really looking forward to hearing more from this upcoming music!
