Tony Hawk's Pro Skater Social Media Gets a 25th Anniversary Rebrand Sparking Hopes For a New One

As a devoted skateboarding enthusiast who grew up with Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater (THPS) games, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia as we approach the 25th anniversary of this iconic series. The rebranding of its social media channels has certainly sparked hope among fans like me, who are eagerly anticipating a new game or even a remaster of our beloved classics.

This month signals the 25-year anniversary of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater’s initial release on PS1. To celebrate this milestone, the franchise has given its social media platforms a fresh makeover, fueling speculation among fans about what it might mean for the future.

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but feel a thrill at the possibility of another Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater game or perhaps a remastered version, much like the fantastic Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 released in 2020. However, it’s important to mention that with developer Vicarious Visions now part of Blizzard, the likelihood of this happening seems slim.

In 1980, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 had been on the cards, before being scrapped by Activision, so, unless the idea has been resurrected somehow, the social media rebrand might be nothing more than a celebration of the franchise’s 25th anniversary and not a hint at a new game.

Still, stranger things have happened, and goodness knows, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 (and how about the THUG games, while we’re at it?) would be ripe for the remaster treatment. Here’s hoping, eh?
