Tony Hawk's Pro Skater Social Media Gets a 25th Anniversary Rebrand Sparking Hopes For a New One

As a gamer who remembers the thrill of popping ollies and grabbing mad grinds on the iconic half-pipes of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater back in the late ’90s, this 25th anniversary rebrand has me feeling like I’m on a quarterpipe again, teetering on the edge of anticipation. The thought of a new game or even a remaster is enough to make my virtual skateboard shake with excitement!

This month signifies 25 years since the initial release of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater on PS1, prompting a brand refresh across the series’ social media platforms. This has stirred excitement among fans, who are speculating about potential upcoming developments.

It appears quite likely that a new Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater game or possibly another remaster could be on the horizon, given the success of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 in 2020. However, it’s important to consider that since developer Vicarious Visions has merged with Blizzard, the possibility of a new game might not materialize.

Initially, plans for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 and 4 were in development, but Activision ultimately decided to abandon the project. Therefore, if the social media rebranding isn’t some sort of revival of the concept, it may just be a commemoration of the franchise’s 25th anniversary rather than an indication of a new game.

Still, stranger things have happened, and goodness knows, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 (and how about the THUG games, while we’re at it?) would be ripe for the remaster treatment. Here’s hoping, eh?
