Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 Will Ditch THPS 4’s Open World Career Mode

In 2002, the launch of “Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4” brought a shift in the game’s formula, as it abandoned the traditional two-minute time limit in favor of an open-world career mode, which served as a precursor to the expansive worlds seen in “THUG 1” and “THUG 2“. However, for the upcoming “Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4“, this open-world approach is being phased out.

Similar to how Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 was before it, the upcoming remake Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 (developed by Iron Galaxy) is a revival of two THPS classics. It includes all the original skate parks, tunes, skaters, and stunts. However, it appears that the career mode from Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4 won’t be included in this remake. Also, Bam Margera is not expected to feature either.

In contrast to previous games, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4 is expected to adopt a similar approach as the first three games, setting a 2-minute limit for each run and presenting a series of objectives to accomplish. However, this change may not sit well with fans who enjoyed the blend of time-limit challenges and free-roam exploration in the original game.

In the upcoming release of “Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4,” while there will be a Free Skate mode, it won’t resemble the original career mode from Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4. Instead, get ready to play on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC starting July 11th. The game will be accessible day one through Xbox Game Pass!
