Tony Hawk Says That He's 'Working on Something' With Activision Ahead of Pro Skater 25th Anniversary

Oh boy, oh boy! As a child of the 90’s, I can still remember the thrill of popping ollies and landing 900-degree spins on my virtual skateboard thanks to Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater. Now, hearing that ol’ bird dog himself has been chatting with Activision about something related to the game’s 25th anniversary? Man, it’s like Christmas come early!

Legendary skateboarder Tony Hawk, known for his mastery of the 900-degree spin and a pioneer in the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series, has hinted that he’s been discussing projects with Activision. He mentioned they’re “developing something” to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater.

Hawk playfully hinted to Mythical Kitchen, “Unfortunately, I can’t reveal much, but let me tell you, I’ve been in touch with Activision once more!” He added, “I can’t contain my excitement. We’re cooking up something special that fans will absolutely love.

Hawk’s comments follow close behind last week’s rebranding to the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater social media platforms, fueling rumors that a new development for the series might be on its way, whether it’s a sequel or potential remasters of THPS 3 and 4. Given that developer Vicarious Visions has been absorbed by Blizzard, the future of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater remains uncertain (no pun intended), but it seems there are definitely some exciting changes brewing.

Back on August 31st, 1999, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater made its debut, meaning its 25th anniversary has already passed. However, let’s keep our fingers crossed that Activision might have something exciting planned. In the meantime, feel free to check out our Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 review.
